I’ve always been a huge fan of Rimmel nail polishes, they are seriously great. But Rimmel have outdone themselves with their new Salon Pro range, carrying on the Rimmel trend of gorgeous colours, affordable prices and a quick drying, shiny finish. This little beauty is Rimmel Salon Pro ‘Punk Rock’. *all the heart eye emojis*
Rimmel Salon Pro ‘Punk Rock’ is a really pretty, but unusual, purple-taupe. It’s very much an autumn/winter shade but I have been loving it at the moment anyway.
There are a few negatives to this polish however. The lid makes this probably the most poorly designed nail varnish I’ve ever used – it is huge and makes the brush really difficult to control. I hate it. The formula was also really thin and watery. It still built to a lovely colour when I layered it (this took 3 coats which isn’t terrible but isn’t great) but it means that – again – it’s hard to control. If you’re not careful when applying this polish will flood your cuticles and ruin your manicure. Not ideal. I haven’t tried other polishes from this range, so it may not be something that runs through the whole collection so bear that in mind.
BUT, as I mentioned above, the colour is seriously gorgeous. Although it needs 3 coats for full coverage, the brush is wide so it applies really well. When will more nail varnish brands catch on to the wide brush thing?
Have you tried any of the Rimmel Salon Pro nail varnishes? Let me know what you think of them and if there are any other shades I need to try – the comments are always open!
