SEQuaderma Treatment For Rosacea And Facial Redness #AD

When I was diagnosed with Rosacea 10 years ago, (you can read about my diagnosis HERE), I was prescribed a rosacea treatment that made my skin even worse. So since then, I have avoided targeted treatments and relied on my own beauty knowledge and managed my symptoms as best I could with diet and lifestyle changes. When I was approached by SEQuaderma to try their SEQuaderma treatment for rosacea and facial redness, I was a bit apprehensive and did a lot of reading to educate myself before agreeing to try it. But I’m so glad I did. You can see the final results above but keep reading for the details.

(It’s a bit scary putting my no-make-up face on here but I can’t review a product for rosacea without showing my face… so please be kind!)

SEQuaderma Treatment For Rosacea And Facial Redness RosaceaReview: The Science

SEQuaderma products are produced by Pro Bono Bio and the range includes targeted products for all sorts of skin concerns including eczema, dermatitis and acne. All of them are clinically proven, tested under dermatological control and they contain no drugs so can therefore also be used alongside prescribed medication.

To quote the blurb from the website: “SEQuaderma works by hydrating and nourishing the skin. It also helps detoxify skin tissue by improving lymph drainage. This treatment is not a concealer but it actively address the symptoms, this is why visible changes in skin redness may be seen after 2 – 4 weeks of treatment. In a clinical trial, nearly 80% of patients reported improvement in a primary or secondary symptom of rosacea after 4 weeks use. In a 4 week user trial, 63% reported reduction in flushing frequency. The majority reported the reduced occurrence and intensity of visible blushing. 73% claimed reduction in blood vessel appearance.”

It is recommended that you use the SEQuaderma: Treatment For Rosacea And Facial Redness cream for a minimum of two weeks to begin to see results. You apply the product (which has a gel-consistency) to cleansed skin twice a day and leave it to dry for 10 minutes before applying the rest of your skin care and make up. It isn’t sticky, sinks in quickly and doesn’t smell of nasty chemicals which I was initially worried about. The first two photos below are my skin before I started the trial. As you can see, my rosacea wasn’t terribly bad but it was red enough for me to notice it daily. These photos weren’t taken during a flare up, this was just a regular day before make up. My redness is always concentrated on my cheeks, nose, cheekbones and on the right hand side of my forehead (shown on the left side of my forehead below).

After two weeks I had noticed the difference in my skin but I don’t think the photos show too much difference. It’s slightly less red overall, but it’s still fairly noticeable. I noticed that when I had a flare up, it still felt the same (my skin felt itchy, warm and like it was swollen) but when I looked in the mirror, the visible effects were definitely reduced. I also felt like the flare up effects lasted for a shorter time, so I decided to keep going with the trial for a further two weeks.

And the results only got better. It was gradual so I don’t think I even realised the extent until I compared the photos today: The redness has reduced all over my face (but especially on my cheeks), the spider veins have faded, and my skin tone overall seems brighter and more even. My flare ups continue to feel similar to before, but *appear* differently – the redness isn’t as noticeable to others and the longevity of the flares is a lot shorter.

In case you can’t tell from the above raving (!) I am seriously impressed with this cream. The majority of the products I used are split into three camps: treatment of the after-effects of rosacea (calming my skin down after a flare up), keeping my skin happy on a day to day basis, or products to hide the redness. I hadn’t found anything that actually targeted the rosacea, from a prevention point of view, and I thought that IPL would be the only way to reduce my facial redness with any noticeable results. So to find a cream that is available on the high street that offers this is pretty incredible and makes me extremely happy.

I was on the fence halfway through the trial but by the end I was so excited to get this on the blog in the hope that my readers with rosacea can try this out as well. If you are interested in trying the SEQuaderma: Treatment For Rosacea And Facial Redness cream, it’s available from Lloyd’s Pharmacy (online and in-store) and is only £17.99. The only thing I don’t like about this product is the packaging – it looks quite dated and I wouldn’t want it to have pride of place on my dressing table… but when something works this well, who cares what it looks like!?

If you do try it, let me know how you get on – I’d love to hear from you. You can comment on here, chat to me on Twitter (@TalontedLex), Instagram (@TalontedLex) or email me using the contact form at the top of the blog – I’m always happy to natter!

I used this product for broken capillaries on my nose, I used it every day for about 3 months but saw no improvement so will have to try something else.

I’m sorry to hear that Fiona, everyone’s skin is different so I try to just give my personal experiences. Let me know if you’ve found something else you prefer so I can try it out 🙂

I’m not a doctor at all, but I have Rosacea as well and have been told by my derm that topical treatments can’t repair broken capillaries. They can help with overall redness and inflammation but the only sure method I’m aware of that can reduce permanently visible blood vessles is laser therapy.

Dear Lex, thanks for your great review(s). As I am trying to battle rosacea on my own too, I was wondering if you do prefer Sequaderma or Dermalex. Do you still use one of them and how are the long-term results? I would really appreciate an answer.

Hello Angie! You’re welcome, thank you very much for reading them 🙂
I think both are great, I still stand by my review of the Dermalex (that review seems like a long time ago now!) I would say that the SEQuaderma slightly pips the Dermalex just because the results were that impressive. I saw a difference when I used Dermalex but the SEQuaderma really amazed me. I still use it but not every day as I try out so much skincare that it sometimes gets left behind but it’s always there in the background. I think this is what keeps my rosacea under control – I do think some of the redness has returned around my nose now that I’m not using it as instructed but that’s to be expected as it doesn’t promise the effects will last if you discontinue use.
LONG STORY SHORT: Both are excellent and I can’t fault either but I think SEQuaderma had truly amazing results on my rosacea, so that would be my pick. I hope this was helpful 🙂

Wow, what a great result! Any idea where I could buy it in the US? I checked the website and didn’t find anything?

One note on this. Inish pharmacy will NOT refund your money if you have a reaction to this product. Lovely product to use, but it ended up completely wrecking my skin. They won’t give me a refund which is pretty unusual as far as most vendors go. I pointed out to them that they should change the wording on the returns section of their website to make that crystal clear to buyers. I wanted to provide this info as not everything works for everyone. That being said, it’s not an arm an a leg and if it works for you it may be worth the risk to buy and try it.

I’ve been diagnosed with rosacea too but get little spots on forehead cheeks and chin sometimes when it flares up I’m wondering will this treatment be for this type or just for redness?

Hey! I’ve rosacea too! I can relate to almost every single one of your symptoms. It is almost conforting knowing someone else manages to overcome the self steem trouble and the end less investing required to be able to leave home feeling normal. Where I live most of the products you reccomend are not available. Which is why I’d like you yo to consider a future post in which tell us you TOP products for each department (coverage, relief, cleanser, etc). La Roche is very popular worldwide however their foundation is not 🙁 have you tried Almay, Avene or any other popular hydrogenic brand that you could advice ud to get in South America? We’re reading you down here 🙂 thanks for this great blog.

I know what you mean, I find it so comforting to know others have the same issues and struggles.
That’s a good idea about the round up of products with more options. I haven’t tried Almay – I don’t think it’s very big in the UK unfortunately – but I LOVE Avène. You can see all of the Avène posts I’ve done HERE. I still can’t believe someone’s reading my little blog in South America!! x

Hi, googling SEQuaderma doesn’t show much; seems it disappeared. Do you know if it got rebranded or if there’s anything similar? Thanks
