GOSH SS16 Collection Review

Want a sneaky peek into the new GOSH SS16 Collection? I have all the new additions here…

New GOSH SS16 Collection

GOSH SS16 Collection

I was super excited to be invited to the pre-launch viewing of the GOSH SS16 collection this week. The range launches on the 10th of Feb but I think there are a few must-haves here so make a note! I’ve updated the descriptions with links – go go go!

The range has a neutral, natural focus with a lot of nudes and subtle berry shades so this is a range that will appeal to, and suit, a lot of people.

Let’s look all the bits in detail, shall we? Starting with the product I am most excited about: the GOSH Lip Oils*…

New GOSH SS16 Collection

If you’ve seen everyone raving about the Clarins Lip Oils but fancied a cheaper option, these look like a great dupe. They contain argan oil, macadamia oil, sea buckthorn and moringa oil and a raspberry oil derivative (Vitamin E) which is high in Omega 6 and 3 and Vitamin E…all of which are great for dry and cracked lips. They are designed to be an intensely moisturising, repairing and nourishing treat that you can wear every day. I’m not a huge fan of gloss as I hate anything sticky or greasy, but these have a lovely smooth texture that feels very luxurious. There are 4 colours in the range, but as you can see the colour doesn’t really translate when it’s rubbed in. The scent is quite unusual so it’s worth having a sniff if you have a super sensitive nose.

These are going to be super popular so I’d get your elbows ready for launch day! The shades I received were  ‘004 Raspberry’ and ‘002 Sea Buckthorn’ and these are £7.49 each, get them HERE.

Another product that immediately caught my eye was this beautiful eyeshadow palette: GOSH Matt Shadow Collection ‘004 To Be Cool In Copenhagen’*. I am always looking for compact, wearable palettes and this is definitely going to be a new favourite – I can see myself wearing every single shade. The formulas are buttery and smooth and the colour pay off is great for such subtle shades.

This palette is £10.99 HERE.

If you’re a fan of lazy make up application, the GOSH Forever matt eyeshadow sticks* may be your new best friend. These little bad boys are twist-up (Yes! Down with pencils that need sharpening!) crayons that go on super creamy which makes them really easy to smudge out or build up as much as you desire. You have about a minute to work with them and then they set and do. Not. Budge. After I swatches these on my hand, by the time I’d finished taking the photos I had to use my cleansing oil to remove it! These are a great product to throw in your handbag for a day-night touch up but be aware that the lips are not click-y so may come loose in your bag.

The colours I’ve shown are my favourites from the collection: ’11 Dark Brown’ and ’10 Twisted Brown’. These are £7.49 HERE.

Who doesn’t love a bit of illumination, especially when it’s dull, dark and drab outside? I’m usually a powder highlighter kind of girl, but these may be my new obsession. GOSH Lumi Drops* are a tinted highlighting cream that you can either mix with foundation or moisturiser for an all over glow, or pat on top of your finished make up look for more intense glow. There are a few different shades, I had my eye on the light gold one but I’m glad I tried this one – ‘004 Peach’ – as it’s actually really flattering. The cream is really lightweight and sheer so you won’t end up with orangey patches on your face. I’ve been squirting a bit onto the back of my hand and lightly tapping my fingers onto cheekbones and bridge of the nose and it gives a really subtle glow that doesn’t overpower or look too OTT. I love the dewy look it gives me and can see me reaching for this a lot as the weather gets warmer.

The Lumi Drops will be £7.99 which is a bargain. As you only use a pea-sized amount so this little bottle will last ages. Get it HERE.

I reviewed the previous incarnation of the GOSH Primer Plus in my SS15 blog post (the Hydrating version) so I was intrigued to try the newest addition to the primer portfolio. This is the GOSH Primer Plus Illuminating Skin Perfector*. When I first tried this on my hand it looked super orange and I was a bit put off. However, after applying it to my face I don’t think that orange tone translates to the skin, although you may struggle if you’re very pale as there is a tint. On me it did a good job of unifying my skin tone and gave it a nice dewy glow. I’m very oily so I don’t think this is aimed at me but if your skin is on the dry side and you struggle with dull or sallow skin I think this may be a great purchase.

This is the only product from the new range that’s already available. It is £14.99 and you can purchase it HERE.

I am already a fan of GOSH’s matte lipsticks so seeing that there were 4 new shades was music to my…eyes? Moving on. The GOSH Velvet Matte Touch lipsticks* I have tried were really matte (without being drying or cakey) but the lipstick I received feels quite creamy. It’s not glossy but I’d say it’s more semi-matte than full matte. The shade shown here is ‘011 Matt Nougat’ which is not a great colour on me as it’s a bit too brown-toned but I have my eye on a few of the other new shades, particularly ‘Sweetness’, a rosy pink.

These are £6.99 HERE.

I am a mascara hoarder. I can’t help it, I am drawn to new mascaras in the hope I will find one that makes my blonde, stumpy embarrassments transform into beautiful fluttery lashes. GOSH Rebel Eyes Mascara* has a thin, slightly curved brush with plastic teeth. It really grabs onto the lashes and helps to lengthen and fan them out. I like to layer my mascara and I did find that this went a bit clumpy between the second and third coat, but I think with careful application and some combing (I’m always too lazy to do this…) the clumping could be avoided.

The Rebel Eyes mascara is £8.99 but isn’t on the website yet. I will update this post when it appears!

Overall, I think the GOSH SS16 collection is a really exciting launch chock full of really wearable and – very importantly – affordable products. The Lip Oils and the eyeshadow palette are definitely my favourites and I can see them both being very popular.

I’ll update this post with links, and tweet a reminder, when the range launches in full. Follow me on twitter to keep up to date: @TalontedLex.

I like the look of the eye-shadow pencils as I cannot get powder shadow to stay put, even with every primer in the land! Will definitely try one 🙂
