A few weeks ago I was invited to an evening with REN, as part of the 30 Plus Bloggers collective, to find out all about the new REN Instant Brightening Beauty Shot Eye Lift. We went to the beautiful Bob Bob Ricard restaurant (you know, the one with the ‘press for champagne’ button that I now absolutely NEED in my flat). If you’d like to see some pictures of the event, take a look at my instagram HERE.
REN Instant Brightening Beauty Shot Eye Lift
Some of you may have heard of, or tried, the precursor to the new product – the REN Instant Firming Beauty Shot*. When this product launched it caused quite a stir due to it’s immediate, as well as long-term, results. It firms, lifts and smoothes thanks to Hyaluronans (you can read more about that HERE).
The REN Instant Brightening Beauty Shot Eye Lift brings the same results but aims to target the tricky eye area. And it is totally different to anything I’ve tried before. You apply it as you would any normal eye product – gently tapping the product around the eye socket area, without rubbing, until the product is absorbed. The last bit is important: the second time I used this product I got distracted and stopped before the product had absorbed and the product went a little bit crusty as it dried on the skin! Lesson learned. It contains light reflective pigments so the eye area will instantly look brighter and more awake, and helps with microcirculation and to reduce inflammation which will help with puffiness (something that I seem to be experiencing more of as I get older). Over time, it claims to lift the whole eye area which is definitely something I’m interested in as I have quite small eyes that are slightly hooded. I’ll be using this for the next month so keep an eye out for March’s Skincare Shake Up to hear my thoughts.
As this is designed to be a product with instant results, I’ve been trying it out to see what I think. The sensation of this product is really unusual – after about 10 seconds you can feel the skin tightening, similar to when a face mask dries on the skin. It doesn’t feel unpleasant or uncomfortable and neither product affects my rosacea. You can see Mikhila’s vlog of the event HERE, where we try the product for the first time. Our reaction faces are hilarious!
Another perk is that this product can also be applied over make up as a perk up through the day or before a night out which I really like, though you have to be careful to put very gently so as not to disrupt your make up.
