I love Kiko and have raved on this blog about their nail varnishes. But I haven’t tried a lot of their make up and I’m not sure why. I picked up some bright beauty bits from Kiko (woohoo alliteration!) on a recent holiday so let’s have a look…
Bright Beauty Bits From Kiko
One of the hottest trends for SS16 is blue eye make up. I think a lot of people are put off by those words as you instantly think 80s pale blue eye shadow right up to the eyebrow, Pat Butcher style. But don’t worry! The modern blue look can be as subtle or in-your-face as you like.
I was really excited to try the Kiko Super Colour mascara in ’07 Sky Blue’. On the brush this looks really bright and obnoxious (and unwearable for most) but on the lashes this is more like a teal colour and is much more subtle. I have blonde eyelashes, so obviously my lashes are more suited to showcasing coloured mascaras in all their glory. I’m always looking for white mascaras to use as a base, so if you have any recommendations please let me know in the comments.
The actual mascara is fairly standard: a chunky brush that adds volume. It’s definitely not waterproof so an eyelid primer is necessary if you’re an oily-lidded gal like me.
Kiko eyeliners come in lots of exciting colours – the orange pencil is calling to me! – but I went for my tried and tested favourite shades. The top swatch is the Kiko Super Colour Eyeliner in ‘107 Blue Majorelle’. It has a cone-shaped felt applicator which is very forgiving for eyelids with fine lines (something I’m becoming more aware of!). It dries to a shiny/vinyl finish which I really like, but it does mean that layering it can be tricky if you need to top it up as it can flake if you’re too heavy handed. I wore it in this instagram photo and I had so many questions from people asking what it was. Always a good sign!
The bottom liner is the Kiko Colour Kajal Eyeliner in ‘112 Green Grass’. These eyeliners are great if you’re looking for something that won’t budge all day, even on the waterline EVEN if you have really watery eyes like me. It’s very smooth to apply with no dragging, but isn’t so creamy that it goes everywhere.
I’m going to update this post this weekend with some photos of me wearing these products so you can see what they’re like on.
What are your favourite Kiko products? Is there anything I need to try? Will you be picking up and bright beauty bits from Kiko? Leave your recommendations in the comments.

Oh my, you NEED to try their other makeup products! I am such a fan because not only are they of great quality, they are so, so affordable too. I wrote a review on their blush trio, lipstick and highlighter and you might wanna check it out here: http://www.lacedivory.com/blog/2016/01/18/kiko-milano-shade-fusion-trio-blush-review/

Oh my gosh that highlighter is gorgeous! You are such an enabler, Roxanne… and I love it 😉
I just got a dark purple Kiko liquid eyeliner & really excited to try it. I love the look of loads of their products, the Leeds shop is amazing!
I am always really reluctant to try new cosmetics because of rosacea & other issues – literally cannot get eyeliner/eyeshadow to stay on, I’ve only ever found 1 black liquid eyeliner & 1 pencil that stay put. I dread to think how much money ive spent on products I’ve only used once with dire results. I might have to hunt for some Kiko reviews!

I am a huge fan of Kiko, so many gorgeous things and unusual colours.
And I can totally relate to worrying about my rosacea reacting to new products. Do you use an eye make up primer? It’s the only thing that keeps eye make up on me without creasing or ending up all over my eyes!
