Spa and Massage Belsize Park

A few weeks ago I was invited for a massage at the Spa and Massage salon in Belsize Park and it came at the best possible time. I had had an absolutely terrible morning: some horribly sad news about a family member, a nasty work email, and a leak in the roof of our flat which left my bedroom and bathroom flooded. All before 9.30am. I felt absolutely exhausted and unable to focus on anything. So when I remembered I had a one hour Swedish massage* booked I could have cried with happiness. I have never needed pampering more!

Spa and Massage Belsize Park

This was the first time I had been to Belsize Park but it is really lovely. It has a relaxed cafe culture, with lots of boutiques and drool-worthy houses to stare at.

The Spa and Massage salon is right on the high street, opposite the tube station so it was really easy to get to. The salon itself is fairly small but very airy, light, and filled with east asian influences. The staff were super friendly and welcoming (which is not always the case in some salons, as I know from unfortunate experience!)

I was given a drink and taken into a small but modern room where Dani asked me about any areas of concern and really put me at ease with her friendly but professional manner. I am quite picky about massages, I’m a little bit like Goldilocks! I’ve had one that was like someone stroking me for an hour (nice, but didn’t really do anything) and I’ve had quite a few where I felt like I’d accidentally wandered into Fight Club! She was gentle on my arms and legs, a little bit firmer on my lower back and then really went to town on my knot-riddled shoulders. This massage was just right and probably the best I’ve had since my all-time favourite massage (The Hilton on Jumeirah Walk in Dubai, in case you’re wondering!) I think I even fell asleep at one point which – considering how frazzled I was when I went into the salon – is a miracle and a huge endorsement. Another fantastic selling point of this spa is that it stays open from 10am until 11pm every day which, even in London, is super rare. I know that a lot people have later working hours or after work commitments so I think it’s great that businesses are extending opening hours to reflect this.

When I left the Spa and Massage salon I felt so much lighter, and that little bit stronger and able to handle the rest of my day. I think treating yourself to a massage is a wonderful way to show yourself a bit of love and the Spa & Massage salon is a wonderful place to do it if you’re in that area… and even if you’re not a local, I would still recommend it so you can make a bit of a day of it and have a wander around beautiful Hampstead and Belsize Park, although Spa and Massage also have a few different locations, so have a look on the website to see if there’s one closer to you.

How do you pamper and relax yourself? Are you a massage, manicure, or facial person?

How lovely! I adore salt or sugar scrubs – my skin tends to run dry so they are great for hydrating and exfoliating!

Oooh I do salt scrubs at home but never had one done at a salon. I bet you feel so smooth and pampered afterwards!
