JML Simply Straight Review – Feat. Runaway Kiwi (and her hair!)

A few weeks ago I went to the launch of the newest exciting hair styling tool on the block: the JML Simply Straight Hair Straightener Brush*. As soon as I saw the brush, I had just the hair in mind for the ultimate test. Watch the video below to see my JML Simply Straight review!

JML Simply Straight Review

The concept is an bafflingly simple one (and makes you wonder why no one else has released a similar product), combining a hair brush and hair straighteners. The brush has ceramic coated bristles so that as you brush your hair, the hair is quickly and easily straightened. Genius!

My hair is naturally wavy, but I knew I needed a bigger challenge for my JML Simply Straight review. I immediately thought of Bex from RunawayKiwi, whose hair is absolutely amazing. Watch the video below to see how the JML Simply Straight Brush handled the curls!

Here are some shots of Bex half way through the review to show the amazing contrast:

I also took some photos of my mum’s hair to include in this review – she has naturally curly hair but it’s thinner than Bex’s so I wanted some varied challenges!

You can buy the brush from the following retailers: Direct from JML, Boots or Superdrug and it is £39.99 which I think is incredibly affordable for the quality of the brush and the results.

I don’t know why this doesn’t seem to work for me, my neighbour got me one and it really doesn’t do much to my hair, it’s so disappointing for me. I’m glad it works for some people though, the hair differences look great x

That’s such a shame – maybe your one is faulty? Perhaps get in touch with JML x

I have to admit I was a little sceptical about this brush – but the results looks amazing! Thanks for sharing x

I was exactly the same, I didn’t think the results would be this good!

I love my hair straightened but no matter what I try I am never truly happy (unless my hairdresser has done it), I have looked at these but thought they were a gimick but now I think I need to get some x

I know what you mean, I hardly ever straighten my hair because I can never get it perfect. This helps to give an easy, but less high maintenance look!

I love mine, I was convinced it was a gimmick but it isn’t x

Same! I was so surprised at the results 🙂

I have quite straight hair but I do get that unattractive style of bed head so this could be perfect for such smoothing things out. Fab post! Xx

I get similar! I don’t know what I do overnight but I wake up looking bonkers! x

The results look great! I tried a similar brush earlier this year and it didn’t do a thing for my hair. I wonder if results vary by product.

I’ve never tried another one so I can’t compare but this one seems to work brilliantly on all different types of hair. Very impressed!

I find it so useful on frizz or just to tidy up my hair on a morning. Clever gadget for sure!

I love it for when I’m on second day hair and just need a quick touch up – it’s just like brushing your hair! Total convert.

  9. 3rd October 2016 / 7:28 pm

I’ve seen these and recently watched some youtube video’s as I also thought it was a gimmick but they really seem to work. Another gadget to add to my list.

I was suspicious too, but was proved so wrong! Such a great little gadget 🙂

Wow what a difference it makes – I love how it doesn’t seem to be so harshly straight you still have some movement left. x

I love that too, hair that’s poker straight can sometimes be too harsh, this still gives it some body x

  11. 3rd October 2016 / 8:54 pm

Wow this really did the trick. It’s awesome that this straightener brush works so well! Very cool!

Isn’t it amazing! I didn’t have high hopes for it standing up to Bex’s hair but it surprised me!

I have seen these advertised but I thought without the clamp part you wouldn’t get hair as straight but you’ve proved my theory wrong x

It’s hard to imagine how it would work at home from the adverts, I’m always a little bit suspicious!

  15. 3rd October 2016 / 9:27 pm

Wow you can really tell the difference and the hair still looks bouncy afterwards which is brilliant. I might get one for myself!

It gives a much more volumised finish than hair straighteners which I love. Such a good product!

  16. 3rd October 2016 / 10:28 pm

Wow what a difference it looks great. I didn’t realise it worked so well.
