Today’s #RosaceaReview is a look at the L’Oreal Paris True Match foundation which is one of my all time holy grail products: affordable, medium-buildable coverage, long-lasting and a natural finish… I wasn’t kidding when I said it was holy grail!

I’ve recently bought Loreal True Match in shade 1.5n but I think I find it a little light colour-wise so may try shade 2n as I think I’m a similar foundation shade to you. I found the coverage of True Match to be a little transparent but agree it’s not clogged when layering etc and I use concealer on particular red areas or blemishes. I have recently bought a range of drugstore foundations (used to only buy high end as I liked to be colour-matched in a department store and essentially try before I buy). I liked Max Factor Lasting Performance but shade 102 Pastelle turned out to be too peachy/orangey so have blended it with my True Match foundation when applying with a sponge and find the combined two foundations give me a result I like. The Max Factor tends to give a matte and touch-proof finish which I’m liking the sound of for summer so am thinking of buying a lighter shade – finding the right shade and foundation consistency is quite a challenge. As I’m not necessarily the lightest shade in the foundation range – i.e. I don’t have porcelain pale skin, and although my face skin is quite cool-toned, my neck and shoulders have a warmer, yellower tinge to them.
YSL fusion ink foundation (applied with fingers – I’ve not tried it with a sponge) in shade BR30 is lovely and a little foundation goes a long way in covering redness – really effective. So may be worth you trying that one?
Lancome Teint Idole in shade 025 goes on nicely with fingers or sponge and gives good coverage and has good lasting power.
Bourjois healthy mix serum in shade 52 goes on well and gives a slightly dewy finish which I am not sure whether it suits me – I tend to look for a natural to matte finish. But the colour match is pretty much perfect and it’s easy to apply with a sponge. I prefer the serum to the foundation as the foundation also in shade 52 comes out a bit dark on me.

Hello! Have you tried any light/dark drops? I use the one from The Body Shop and it’s been a revelation – you just add a few drops to some foundation on the back of your hand and it can alter the shade so you don’t have to buy a new shade!
I’ve been recommended the YSL foundation a few times now so I’m going to have to check it out. I love the Bourjois HMS – it’s what I go to for my lighter coverage days 🙂
That looks brilliant. I am a man with Rosaeca do you think i would get away with it?. I currently use bare mineral redness remedy powder which has been discontinued so looking for an alternative. I really cant have people know i am wearing it hence my question!

I like chatty videos! And my holy grail foundation is the Nars luminous weightless foundation – full coverage and so easy to apply

Estée Lauder double wear is fab and buildable. Love Dior forever too, and their mascara Dior show hands down the best!
