I’m a British Skin Foundation Ambassador!

The headline of this blog post may be a slight giveaway about my big announcement … but I am very excited to announce that I am now a British Skin Foundation ambassador! You can read more about what the charity does and what this means to me below…

British Skin Foundation Ambassador

I’ve been aware of the British Skin Foundation ever since I was diagnosed with rosacea over 12 years ago. After leaving the GP’s surgery I felt confused, scared, and very alone: I hadn’t even heard of rosacea, let alone know how to live with it or control it. I went home and sat on Google, devouring everything I could in order to educate myself. The British Skin Foundation website provided so much information in an accessible and reassuring way. The BSF were founded 21 years ago and in that time have raised over £16,000,000 to fund invaluable research into a wide range of skin diseases and skin cancer. They raise money, campaign for change, raise awareness, and provide support and a sense of community to many sufferers. They are a brilliant charity who do such important work, so I am absolutely thrilled to be British Skin Foundation ambassador.

As the only UK charity dedicated to skin research, the BSF have so much information and advice to share and I am really excited to work with them going forward. As a British Skin Foundation ambassador, I will be collaborating with them on campaigns, sharing information I think my readers will find interesting, and helping to support them in any way I can. I am so grateful and a little bit overwhelmed that such an incredible and well-respected charity want me to represent them and I can’t wait to work with them in the future.

A wonderful example of the work the BSF do is the current fundraising they’re undertaking for the ‘Ocean Brothers’: an incredible duo who are aiming to raise £100,000 by rowing the Atlantic in memory of their late father, who sadly passed away after a 16-year battle with skin cancer.
