Are you looking for a new polish for spring? Look no further. Introducing Barry M ‘Peach Melba’ Nail Varnish.
Did you know that H&M did nail varnish? Me neither. I tried them out for you. I know, I know I’m so selfless. So here’s the H&M ‘Beauty Bandit’ and ‘Wanna Pepperoni’ Nail Varnish review, live and in your eyeballs.
OPI ‘Thanks A Windmillion’
This is the second of the polishes I got from the O.P.I Holland collection. It is a pretty dusky sage green creme polish and is a perfect shade for Spring as it fits the pastel trend very well but has a bit of edge to it.
Unlike ‘A Roll in the Hague’ (you can read my review of that polish HERE), this polish went on perfectly and dried super quickly. I think ‘A Roll In The Hague’ may have been a dodgy bottle as usually you really can’t beat OPI for great application, I could have spent a fortune on this range!
You can buy this polish HERE if you love it as much as I do.
Tuxedo Nail Art Manicure
I adore this mani, so cute and fun. Kind of similar to Zooey Deschanel’s nails at The Golden Globes but a bit more detailed.
Another example of my bespoke nails. A lady wanted the Radiohead bears on two sets of nails. These are the most intricate nails I’ve ever done and they were pretty difficult but I’m very happy with how they came out.

Yes! You heard me! Revlon Whimsical nail varnish now sits proudly on my display rack. And it…is…so…PRETTY!! Along with everyone else, I adored Deborah Lippman’s Glitter In The Air (or GITA as people affectionately nicknamed it) so I was thrilled when Revlon brought out this amazing dupe. I don’t own GITA, but you can see swatched all over the internet so you can compare if you like.
However, as with all good dupes, it soon became as hard to locate as the original! I searched all over the UK (that is not an exaggeration!) but no luck. So I resorted to eBay. I’m so glad I did as it is stunning.
It’s a sheer baby blue polish with: large baby pink and baby blue hexagonal glitter, smaller silver hexagonal glitter and teeny tiny baby glue circular glitter. I layered this over 17’s ‘Chaperone’ which is a light grey and it looks amazing. I only needed one coat of Whimsical for this coverage, but did have to use the brush to arrange some of the larger glitter as it had a tendency to drag.
I love the way the glitter layers though: smaller hexagonals on top of the larger one, the tiny glitter glowing through the sheer blue polish. ARGH SO PRETTY!
And as if it couldn’t get any better, after a day or two of wear, I added a matte top coat (GOSH’s one) and it looked even more amazing. A bit more sophisticated than the glitter (don’t get me wrong, I love glitter but it can sometimes look a bit ‘young’) and the glitter still shines but in a different way. Love it.
If you can get your hands on this polish you will not regret it. I adore it. This nail varnish is now discontinued *sobs* but you can see Revlon’s current glitter range HERE.
Spring Leopard Print Nail Art
I am really excited about spring so wanted to do something cute and pretty on my nails. I love leopard print anyway but like the idea of making it more girly and eye-catching so decided to do multi-pastel leopard print! What do you think?
Leopard print nail art is such a quick and easy mani that I always wonder why I don’t do it more often. Even my boss at work was impressed and he doesn’t usually even notice my crazy nails!
Model’s Own ‘Beetlejuice Purple Blue’
I finally have internet again and have a lot to catch up with. The first in a big batch is Model’s Own ‘Beetlejuice Purple Blue’. I waited for ages for the Beetlejuice collection to come out and was so excited to see them…and was then really underwhelmed. I was expecting really pretty duochrome polishes and they didn’t quite live up to my expectations. Don’t get me wrong, they are pretty but…I wasn’t thrilled with them.
This one is a purple blue (ummm, obviously Lex) and as you can see from the last picture, in artificial light it is quite dark navy and a bit blah. The purple and neon blue tones come through better in natural light and do make it quite an interesting polish. The finish does look quite gritty in these pictures and that does come across in person as well, which I hate.
However, I’ve been mainly using it for adding depth to galaxy nails (which it’s perfect for!), rather than as a stand alone colour for a full mani.
If you’re a bigger fan than me, you can buy it HERE.
How did you feel about this collection? I was pretty gutted that I didn’t love it as much as I wanted to. Too bad, too sad!
