OPI Skull and Glossbones
This is another polish from the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’ Collection – OPI Skull and Glossbones (I LOVE THAT NAME). Although I have no desire to ever (EVER) see this film, the nail polish collection to go with it has really impressed me.
This is a very light grey creme polish with a slight sage green tint. I love grey polishes in all their forms but this one is my new favourite. It is a perfect, classic nail varnish with an unusual twist. What’s not to like?
This required 2 thin coats and the pictures show the manicure topped with Seche Vite. I think OPI have no discontinued this range, but you can buy this polish HERE.
Models Own ‘Ibiza Mix’ Nail Varnish
I had seen this glitter polish in the shops quite a few times and kept picking it up and thinking thinking better of it. I thought that it looked lovely but I wasn’t convinced that it was that different to other glitters I had…
OPI ‘Y’all Come Back Ya Hear?’
This is my final nail varnish from my Paris Sephora haul and it is the most summery of the lot.
I had never tried this technique before but am amazed at how well it works.
All you need is: a teabag, nail glue and a nail file.
Rip the teabag (cutting with scissors creates a thick edge that is harder to blend) to cover your whole nail. Coat your bare nail with glue and press the teabag onto the wet glue, smoothing out bubbles and taking care not to glue yourself to your nail!
Once that is dry, do another layer of glue over the top and wait for that to dry. File off the edges so you can’t see any teabag. The result should look like the 3rd photo above.
Put on base coat and nail varnish as usual. Et voila! A perfect fix!
You will have to redo this whenever it starts to lift (which depends on how often you take your polish off) until the split grows out enough to trim your nail properly.
OPI ‘My Private Jet’ Nail Varnish
This is the third beauty from my Paris Sephora mini haul: the infamous OPI ‘My Private Jet’ nail varnish. Look at that sparkle!
OPI ‘I Brake For Manicures’
This is the second nail varnish from my recent Paris Sephora mini haul polishes: I picked the unusual OPI ‘I Brake For Manicures’ from the 2011 Touring America collection. I wasn’t super excited for this range when I saw it, but maybe I’ve judged it too quickly…
OPI ‘Louvre Me, Louvre Me Not’
When I was in Paris, I made my first trip to Sephora (the enormous one on the Champs-Élysées). I am officially in love! I was in there for absolutely ages. My boyfriend got bored very quickly and just left me to it and went outside to smoke…but not before he told me that he was giving me £50 to spend on nail varnish! WAHHHH! I was in heaven! I ended up buying 4 OPIs but spent bloody ages picking which ones I wanted.
OPI Steady As She Rose is a polish from the Pirates of the Caribbean collection and I am in proper googly-eyed, undying love with it. It is a really unusual neutral shade, a pastel pink-grey that is so flattering and goes with everything. It reminds me of the now discontinued Models Own ‘Utopia‘ which another of my favourites.
As with most OPI nail varnishes, this only needed 2 coats and went on beautifully. This is shown with Seiche Vite top coat. You can buy it HERE, although I don’t think this is going to be brought into the permanent collection so I’d get a wriggle on if you want it.
