Essie Head Mistress, L’Oreal Confetti Top Coat

Essie Head Mistress, L’Oreal Confetti Top Coat

Red, black and white is just such a good combination. This manicure gives me so much pleasure. ‘Head Mistress’ is a beautiful dark raspberry creme polish from the Stylenomics collection. It’s not unusual or different to other polishes I own, but I have really fallen in love with it.

This is topped with L’Oreal’s ‘Confetti’ top coat: a clear polish with a mixture of large, medium and small black and white hex glitter with tiny holographic particles mixed into it. I got this for my birthday, I had wanted it for ages but it was sold out in every Boots I went to. So glad that I finally have it – it is lovely! The only thing I don’t like about it is that it dries matte (which some people might like about it) – I have other glitter polishes like this and don’t find them a problems as I top everything with Seche Vite anyway. BUT this is SO top coat thirsty. The above photos show this polish with 2 coats of Seche Vite. Two!! And it still looks a bit matte. I can forgive it though, as it’s so pretty.

You can buy essie Head Mistress HERE and the L’Oréal Confetti top coat HERE.

Models Own Banana Split Review

Models Own Banana Split Review

Hands up. I admit it. I am a sucker for a gimmick. I am also a sucker for pastels. So when I heard that Models Own were doing a pastels collection of nail varnishes that were scented I was all over it. Like spots on a dalmation.

‘Banana Split’ is a baby yellow creme polish that isn’t as opaque as it looks. I really wish I had done a white undies layer because this needed 3 generous coats. But it all smoothed out and dried fine with Seche Vite on top (although there’s a slight gathering of polish at the tips of the nail which is annoying me…)

This polish didn’t smell like real bananas – even BETTER – it smelt like the foam penny sweetie bananas! Mmmm…I was craving pick ‘n’ mix every time I smelt my nails!

I actually realised after posting this that I already own a Models Own pastel yellow (lemon meringue) which is IDENTICAL to this but doesn’t smell of bananas so obviously I had to have both. I have a serious problem.

Has anyone tried any of the other polishes in this collection? I bet the ‘Apple Pie’ one is incredible… You can buy this polish HERE, but I warn you: you will get a lot of weird looks from people wondering why you’re sniffing your nails!

Topshop AWOL Review

Topshop AWOL Review

I have never been a fan of blue nail varnishes (as long term readers of my blog may know) but I might have to make an exception for this polish. It’s a bright, pure blue creme polish.

I’d never tried Topshop nail varnishes before but I was pleasantly surprised. 2 coat coverage, topped with Seche Vite.

It looks like this polish is now discontinued but you can look at the current Topshop range HERE. I did a colour comparison with the other bright blue nail varnishes I owned, so you can find one that suits your skin tone or pocket!

OPI Vant To Bite My Neck

OPI Vant To Bite My Neck

This is another polish from OPI’s recent ‘Euro Centrale’ collection. It’s a striking aubergine purple creme. This could have been a one coater if I’d been more careful, but as is it took 2 thin coats. It also dried to a really high shine, but I am now too lazy to wait for nail polish to dry so I topped it with Seche Vite!

You can buy this polish HERE. You can see my reviews of the other polishes from this collection here: Polka.comI Saw…U Saw…We Saw…WarsawEurso EuroMy Paprika Is Hotter Than Yours and You’re Such A Budapest.

OPI Eurso Euro Nail Varnish

OPI Eurso Euro Nail Varnish

The Euro Centrale collection is turning out to be one of my favourites from OPI. I totally fell in love with the nail varnish names from the beginning but the polishes have really grown on me after swatching,

‘Eurso Euro’ is a dark indigo creme polish. It is a lovely vibrant colour but it was quite a thin formula, I had to be careful not to flood my cuticles, but surprisingly it still only needed two coats. This is topped with Seche Vite.

This is another polish from OPI’s Euro Centrale collection (I will link my other reviews at the bottom of this post so you can see the other beauties in this range).

OPI My Paprika Is Hotter Than Yours is a bright, orangey-red creme with a subtle light shimmer that I didn’t notice in the bottle. This is two coats of polish topped with Seche Vite. It was quite a thick formula but Seche Vite helped it to dry in no time.

You purchase this gorgeous polish HERE.

OPI You’re Such A Budapest

OPI You’re Such A Budapest

This sexy little beast is from OPI’s new Euro Centrale collection – OPI You’re Such A Budapest is a lovely lilac creme with a subtle shimmer that you can only see in bright sunlight.

I love that this is a beautiful mix between a pastel purple and a periwinkle blue, it’s something a bit different for spring/summer.

Also, I think this name is definitely one of my favourites of all the OPI puns!
