Gabrini 398 Nail Varnish Review

Gabrini 398 Nail Varnish Review

Cabrini 398 is a lovely grey polish that I didn’t even realise was matte until I got home, apparently when I really like the look of a polish I don’t even bother to read the packaging! I love matte finishes on manicures, but prefer to paint a matte top coat over a regular polish so that I can do a layer of Seche Vite between. I have found the matte polishes tend to drag and leave a bumpy finish.

But this one was different. This is two easy to apply coats and as you can see the finish is perfect. I also like that it’s not as flat or dull as most matte polishes – it’s softer looking and almost rubbery. It would be perfect for a first timer in the matte polish area.

Anyone else tried any Gabrini polishes? Every one that I try makes me sure that I’m robbing them somehow by getting them for 99p!

You can look at the whole Gabrini Matte nail polish range HERE.

Gabrini 363 Nail Varnish

Today’s swatch is the excitingly-named Gabrini 363 nail varnish (I HATE polishes with no names… it just seems like such a missed opportunity for fun!)

So apparently Pantone’s colour of the year for 2013 is Emerald which is wonderful news as green is my all time favourite colour. And this nail varnish definitely fits the emerald bill. This is a lovely dark green shimmer polish that has a beautiful glow in the light. This makes me feel quite Christmassy!

This is two coats of Gabrini 363 nail varnish topped with my usual Seche Vite.

You can find Gabrini’s full range HERE, although for some reason that website says that number 363 is a red polish… perhaps they’ve changed the names since I bought this! Worth bearing in mind before ordering though.

Gabrini Summer Edition ‘M101’ Nail Varnish

Gabrini Summer Edition ‘M101’ Nail Varnish

I have blogged about my love for Gabrini nail polishes before but lets recap: they are a Turkish brand that I discovered in a tiny beauty shop in North London. I can’t find anywhere online where you can purchase them but they do have a website with their collections, which you can find HERE. This polish has been in my collection since last summer and I have absolutely no idea why I haven’t worn it before now.

I have owned Gabrini ‘374’ since last summer (when I bought a ridiculously huge haul of Gabrini nail varnish) but I had only swatched it on a nail wheel to try it out. I have been seeing neon nails EVERYwhere and desperately needed something to brighten my day seeing as the UK is currently drowning in torrential rain.

This is one of the polishes mentioned in my previous post. It was a gift for doing my friend’s manicure. We went to a beauty wholesale shop near my house which is full of treats. This place has huge baskets full of polish: I wanted to dive into them and swim around! This one caught my eye straight away as I love glitter (I think I may have been a magpie in a previous life). But in the bottle it looked matte which appealed to me.

And it is absolutely beautiful. The photos cannot do it justice. It dries matte but still shiny, if that’s even possible! It is the most beautiful holo polish I have seen in real life.

AND it was 99p. Ninety…nine…pence. I’ll leave that to sink in for a moment….

99p!! Madness.

Anyway. This was 3 coats of the polish as the glitter takes a while to build up to full coverage.

I had never heard of this brand before, but according to Google it’s Turkish! I’m going to keep an eye out for more of it in that shop because if they do a whole range of holo polishes that are as pretty as this one, I NEED THEM.

Lex 🙂

P.S. 99p!!
