Essie Chinchilly Nail Varnish
Essie Chinchilly nail varnish has been on my wishlist for a while. I have a *thing* for grey polish. I don’t know what it is about it that I like so much: it’s classy but interesting, simple but eye-catching… if I’m feeling uninspired and stood staring at my collection, I will inevitably go for a grey.
And this is a really lovely grey. It’s almost lavender-toned in certain lights and looks soft (am I the only one who thinks that?). I’ve described greys as ‘dove grey’ before, but I think this is the truest representation of that description that I’ve seen.
This took two coats of polish and is topped with Seche Vite.
You can buy this classic polish HERE.
Essie Stylenomics Review
This vampy beauty is the namesake of the 2012 Essie ‘Stylenomics’ collection. It is a lovely dark green with a little hint of grey. It is interesting enough to make it look less goth-like, but dark enough to still be statement. In the bottle it looks slightly uninspiring but has been a nice change from the super dark reds I usually go for when I want something dramatic.
This was perfect coverage in 2 coats, and topped with Seche Vite.
You can buy it HERE. I’ve also reviewed Recessionista and Head Mistress from the Stylenomics collection, both of which are lovely.
OPI Need Sunglasses Review
Yellow polishes are usually either gorgeous or garish. This OPI nail varnish is a lovely blend of the two – gorgeously garish, if you will! This is one of my Dubai holiday haul purchases and as soon as I saw it on the stand I knew that I needed it. I think the sun and heat over there had me craving some stand out colours and this is definitely ticking that box! This is so incredibly bright that it immediately makes me happy as soon as I put it on. Do you have a polish like that in your collection?
MUA Furry Nail Art With Flocking Powder
I have wanted to try these new flocking powders ever since I saw them and I wasn’t disappointed. I know it won’t be to everyone’s taste but I love it!
The polish is one of the new ones from my holiday haul – Kinetics ‘Violet Up’ (KP197). This is a bright fuchsia jelly-like polish, and the photos show three coats with Seche Vite.
To apply the fluff, you tip some into the lid of the pot, dip the wet nail into the fluff and carefully pat down. Et voila! Fluffy fun nails!
I don’t think MUA make this flocking powder anymore but you can get a similar product HERE.
