I’m always on the look out for my next nail varnish discovery and was very excited when this brand popped into my inbox. Described as a luxurious boutique nail polish brand, HJ Manicure nail varnish is named after its founder, Helen J: a former model who trained as a nail technician and worked as a session manicurist… so she definitely knows her nail varnish!
Todays’s Mani Monday nail art is a design that I have been wanting to do for ages… camouflage! And I am really pleased with how it came out.
I have wanted to do marble inspired nail art for ages and I’m pretty pleased with the results. I was just making it up as I went along so it’s definitely something I’ll revisit, I think some more detailing with darker shades will give it even more impact and make it look more realistic.
The slogan of my blog might as well be “…I don’t even *like* blue nail varnish!” If you’ve seen my huge nail varnish sort and destash video you will have witnessed my utter confusion at how I’ve managed to accumulate such a large amount of blue nail varnishes when I (claim that I) don’t even like blue nail varnish on me. Gorgeous colours, wide brushes that make application a dream, and chip-resistant formula that means I can easily go 10 days without any flaws. So news of their brand new topcoat was met with much excitement. There are a few ‘gel finish’ topcoats and nail varnish ranges out there at the moment (applause for Barry M in particular, stink eye to the Revlon gel top coat which never EVER dried) so it was only a matter of time before essie released one. And here it is: Essie Gel Setter Top Coat!
I bought 3 of the Sally Hansen nail art pens in New York (if you want to have a nosey at the other goodies I got you can watch my haul videos HERE and HERE). Although I wanted every single pen that they stocked, I was very reserved and picked the pens I thought I would use the most: white, black and red. I am an impatient soul and I wanted to try them out straight away, so this is my first foray into some simple nail art using them.
If you’re a regular around these parts you’ll know that the only thing that can get me more excited than nail polish… is scented nail polish. So when I heard about this nail varnish collection my interest was well and truly piqued. Nail varnish that contains essential oils. Intrigued? Read on…
