I am absolutely losing my mind being stuck at home recovering from surgery. And so, to celebrate being able to sit up without wanting to cry, I decided to do some nail art. I did some watermelon nail art HERE so I stuck with the fruit theme for these cute pop art nail art bananas.

If you’re a regular round her you’ll know I’m a big fan of Barry M, especially their nail varnishes. Great colours and finishes for a very affordable price, what could be better?

So when I spotted the new Barry M Speedy Quick Dry nail paints I was powerless to resist. They just dropped into my basket. We’ve all been there.

Multicoloured Gradient Nail Art

Multicoloured Gradient Nail Art

These aren’t my best gradients but in my defence I was going to do something over the top so they didn’t need to be too perfect. However, I ran out of time and patience with them and decided they would be fine as they were! #nailbloggerproblems

These were done with Barry M pastel nail varnishes and are topped with two coats of Essie ‘Good To Go’ (Still not liking it as much as Seche Vite by the way…)

I’ve done a tutorial here for how to do gradients, this is the same principle but with 4 colours instead of 2.

I might actually update these tomorrow and post some pictures as I’m still not too enamoured with them…

Kiko 372 Nude Nail Varnish

Kiko 372 Nude Nail Varnish

This is another of the polishes I got in the Kiko sale in France (2.50 Euro per polish… it would’ve been rude not to take advantage of that so I got loads!)

Kiko 372 Nude nail varnish is a creamy blush coloured polish with more than a hint of grey (and regular readers will know how I feel about grey!) I really like this barely-there polish, it is so classy without being boring and will go with absolutely any outfit.

This nail varnish needed 2 fairly thick coats to get full coverage, but Kiko polishes always apply and dry very well so that wasn’t a problem. This is shown topped with Seche Vite.

You can get Kiko polishes HERE.

Gabrini 398 Nail Varnish Review

Gabrini 398 Nail Varnish Review

Cabrini 398 is a lovely grey polish that I didn’t even realise was matte until I got home, apparently when I really like the look of a polish I don’t even bother to read the packaging! I love matte finishes on manicures, but prefer to paint a matte top coat over a regular polish so that I can do a layer of Seche Vite between. I have found the matte polishes tend to drag and leave a bumpy finish.

But this one was different. This is two easy to apply coats and as you can see the finish is perfect. I also like that it’s not as flat or dull as most matte polishes – it’s softer looking and almost rubbery. It would be perfect for a first timer in the matte polish area.

Anyone else tried any Gabrini polishes? Every one that I try makes me sure that I’m robbing them somehow by getting them for 99p!

You can look at the whole Gabrini Matte nail polish range HERE.

Pacific Rapsodi 12 Nail Varnish

Pacific Rapsodi 12 Nail Varnish

Rapsodi is a Turkish brand that I had never come across before until I saw these polishes (they own Gabrini as well – a brand I have raved about before). I have only seen these nail varnishes in one wholesale beauty shop that’s  in North London and I now have to go get some more of these neons as this is just beautiful.  And it was 99p. BRILLIANT.

Essie Fear Desire Review

Essie Fear & Desire Review

Essie make such beautiful colours and their red/pink/coral offerings are some of their nicest. But I think this bright beauty may be one of my favourites of theirs. A bright, true orange polish from the 2012 ‘Bikini So Teeny’ collection.

This only needed 2 coats which I was surprised at, for some reason I thought it was going to be streaky and patchy. It does dry a bit darker on the nails than it looks in the bottle. This is going to be my summer colour, I can tell.

If you’re swooning over this polish as much as me, you can buy it HERE.
