Seventeen Baked Cherry

Seventeen Baked Cherry

I have always had a soft spot for the Seventeen brand (or 17 as it was before their rebrand). It reminds me of being young and my first forays into make up. Their nail polishes are usually very good: super affordable, tons of beautiful colours, great application… which is why this one really disappointed me.

The brush was a complete nightmare. The bristles were all different lengths and really stiff which meant that neat application was impossible. I had to do so much clean up afterwards to get them looking acceptable which is very frustrating.

I’m hoping this was just a bad brush as I’ve had other bottles from the same range that are brilliant.

So ignoring the crappy brush, this colour is truly gorgeous. A very deep pinky red, that was a perfect 2 coater. Topped with Seche Vite, but shiny without it and quite fast drying as well. Just a shame that I probably won’t wear it again due to the awful brush…

You can see the full Seventeen nail varnish range HERE.

Seventeen Rock Hard Nail Effects in Grey

Seventeen Rock Hard Nail Effects in Grey

Okay, I admit it – My name is Lex and I am a textured nail-a-holic. I can’t stop. They are everywhere at the moment and I can’t stop.

Seventeen (with their new branding, which I LOVE) do excellent nail polishes – great colours, keep up with the trends, long lasting. These are no exception. These are slightly grittier than the Barry M textured polishes and Seventeen have gone with edgier colours (grey, black and red rather than pastels).

I still love them. I still can’t stop touching them. I hope these new finishes stay around as they are the most interesting thing to happen to nail varnish in ages!

You can buy this polish HERE.

I actually bought this polish ages ago but I took so long to get round to swatching it that I forgot just how pretty it looked. I think I first picked it up hoping that it was a (much, much more affordable) Chanel ‘Peridot’ dupe.
