Garnier Perfect Blur Primer Garner Perfect Blur Primer

Garnier Perfect Blur Primer

I ran out of my usual primer (Revlon Photoready) and fancied trying a new one as I wasn’t very impressed with my old one.

This is the new primer by Garnier – 5 Sec Perfect Blur. It is designed to smooth and perfect your skin by targeting wrinkles, discoloration, imperfections, shrinking pores and blocking shine. I wouldn’t go as far as to say it does all of that but I did notice a difference. The cream works by reflecting light and I think it does make lines and pores look less obvious.

I have read some bloggers raving about the ‘silky’ way it applies but I hate it, it’s so silcon-y. It feels like spreading grease on my face.

The main thing I look for in a primer is how well it helps to combat shine throughout the day. Buying this coincided with the crazy heatwave we are having in the UK so I don’t want to be too hasty with my assessment of it. I do find that my forehead and nose are a bit shiny by the time I get home, which means my primer hunt still continues. Is it too much to ask that a primer keeps my foundation in place all day? Am I *reaching* for the stars here? (name the film!)

You an purchase this primer HERE – if you have drier skin then you may find this is a lot more up your street!

Barry M Gelly Key Lime

Barry M Gelly Key Lime

I’ve reviewed some of the other Barry M Gelly polishes before and have been very vocal about how much I like them, but I was a bit disappointed by this polish.

The colour is amazing – you can see that from the pictures. I am a huge fan of green polishes on all forms but lime green holds a special place in my heart. This is no exception. It’s bright, it’s summery, it’s obnoxious… it’s perfect. But the formula was a nightmare. It was so thick and stringy. I added some nail varnish thinner to it but it was still horrible. It was drying as I was trying to apply it, which made it drag and made the finish bumpy. I had to apply two coats of Seche Vite to make it look presentable, which is a first for me with Barry M polishes. I’m hoping it was just a bad batch as I have some other polishes from this range lined up to try and will be gutted if they’re just as bad.

You can buy the range HERE. Do let me know your experiences with this product as I’m hoping it’s just this bottle.
