Kiko 335 Ink Blue Review

Kiko 335 Ink Blue

Introducing yet another stunning blue polish from Kiko – one by one they are curing me of my aversion to blue nail varnish. It’s witchcraft, I am convinced of it!

Kiko 335 Ink Blue is shown here with 2 coats, but it could probably have done with 3 as there is still a bit of a visible nail line. This nail varnish dries very quickly and it is so shiny even without topcoat (the photos here do show the manicure with Seche Vite on though, I am not going to wait for nail varnish to dry. Ain’t nobody got time for that…)

You can buy this blue beauty HERE. I also did a comparison post as I have quite a few polishes that are similar in colour to this – you can find it HERE.

Kiko 372 Nude Nail Varnish

Kiko 372 Nude Nail Varnish

Kiko 372 Nude Nail Varnish

This is another of the polishes I got in the Kiko sale in France (2.50 Euro per polish… it would’ve been rude not to take advantage of that so I got loads!)

Kiko 372 Nude nail varnish is a creamy blush coloured polish with more than a hint of grey (and regular readers will know how I feel about grey!) I really like this barely-there polish, it is so classy without being boring and will go with absolutely any outfit.

This nail varnish needed 2 fairly thick coats to get full coverage, but Kiko polishes always apply and dry very well so that wasn’t a problem. This is shown topped with Seche Vite.

You can get Kiko polishes HERE.

Revlon Plum Night Review

Revlon Plum Night

Revlon Plum Night

I found these photos on my computer and realised that I had never blogged them. This manicure was done just after a few nails breaks, hence the uneven nail lengths – I apologise!

Revlon Plum Night is a rich aubergine coloured cream polish that is absolute perfection in 2 coats. This is a glorious autumnal colour and, as we are meant to be in summer but it’s freezing and raining, I’m going to allow myself to bust out this colour now! At first glance this nail varnish would look almost black, but the plum tones to it really come out in natural light and give this an interesting depth, as you can see in the picture below. This manicure is topped with Seche Vite (of course).

You can buy this nail varnish for £4.99 HERE.

Essie Recessionista Review

Essie Recessionista

Essie Recessionista

When I saw the name of this polish I just knew I wanted it…no, needed it. Essie’s nail varnish names are always a bit tongue in cheek and this one is brilliant. Essie Recessionista is not a particularly unusual or stand-out shade but it’s still a very pretty burgundy creme polish that is a classic polish that would make a reliable go-to shade. This nail varnish will probably become a favourite polish of mine when it gets to autumn and winter (although at the moment I’m starting to doubt we’ll get a summer…). It is a shade that looks instantly grown up and put together, which is helpful for someone like me who lives in jeans!

Essie Recessionista had full coverage in 2 coats and was very shiny, even without Seche Vite (although these photos are shown with Seche Vite because I hate waiting for my nails to dry!)

You can buy Essie Recessionista HERE.

Maybelline Color Show Midnight Taupe

Maybelline Color Show Midnight Taupe

I don’t have many Maybelline polishes but after trying this one I think may be getting some more. This is a nail varnish that is quite hard to describe: I’d say it’s a purple-y taupe creme polish. It is unusual as it’s quite a flat colour, in terms of depth and dimension, but is still very shiny and interesting.

This manicure was 2 coats but the polish is quite thin on application so maybe try 3 if you want to get a more opaque finish. Be careful when applying the polish – as the formula is so runny it would be easy to flood your cuticles and ruin your mani.

This is topped with Seche Vite – as always.

You can buy it HERE.
