A-england ‘Escalon’ (‘The Legend’ collection)
As soon as I heard that a-england’s next collection was going to be based on the legend of St George I saw it as a sign as I was born on St George’s day (23rd of April, date for your diaries…). In case you haven’t heard of a-england they are a brilliant London-based company run by the lovely Adina who is a total sweetheart. When I pre-ordered these polishes I was so desperate to get my hands on them that Adina offered to let me collect them from her after I finished work! My boyfriend drew the line at the 2 hour round trip *just* so I could get some polishes 24 hours earlier than Royal Mail could deliver them!
The collection is now available for purchase and they are all stunning, but I limited myself to St George, The Dragon, Ascalon and Princess Sabra (Tristam Eyes).
The swatch above is the latter. It is a beautiful gold holographic polish with a lovely olive green tint to it. The holographic particles in this polish are so striking. As you can see from the pictures they are more prominent in direct sunlight, but are also really beautiful in artificial light.
This polish applies perfectly, really smooth and easy to control. You could get away with one coat as it’s quite opaque but I’m a two-coat-girl. It is unbelievably shiny without a top coat, but after I applied Seche Vite the colours were even more vibrant. It also wears really well, I had it on for about 4 days (which tells you how much I love it as I never do that!) and there was very minimal tip wear and I do a lot of typing!
To summarise: a-england is amazing and you all need them in your life. I challenge you to go onto the website and not buy any! www.a-england.co.uk.
