This is the beautifully bright ‘Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes’. A clear based polish with varying sizes of glitter in orange, yellow, red and gold. Also, I have never ever seen the appeal of bar glitter but I LOVE it in this.
This is one layer of WWW over Collection 2000’s ‘Blue Hawaii’, topped with Seche Vite. I did have to do some placement of the glitter but nothing too difficult.
Yes, I am still ploughing through the Collection 2000 prize, they seem to be never ending. I think I’ve liked every single colour so far and this one is no exception.
It’s a slightly sheer red polish with a hot pink shimmer in the sun which adds a kick to what would otherwise be a fairly regular red nail varnish.
Unlike all of the other Collection 2000 polishes, this one needed more than 2 coats. The photos above are 2 coats and you can still see nail line in some lights. Also, I used two layers of top coat and it still felt a bit gritty when dried. Not huge problems, but after the rest of the Collection 2000 range was so great I was just surprised.
I took so many photos to try to capture the true colour of this polish but didn’t manage it. It is a gloriously inky indigo creme polish but has a more vibrant purple tint than you can see in these photos.
2 coats, fast drying and hard-wearing - I had this manicure for about 5 days and no chips or tip wear. So impressed!
This is a plummy, fuchsia purple creme polish that looks so much prettier on that it does in the bottle. I am very pale and sometimes darker polishes can make me look a bit ill and washed out, but I love the way this looks on me.
2 coats, fast drying, cheapcheapcheap. I cannot keep telling you to buy Collection polishes…just do it!
Another lovely Collection 2000 polish that I didn’t think I was going to like…but that has proved me wrong. Blue polish isn’t one of my favourites. I don’t know why I just don’t ever feel drawn towards blue. But this is an interesting cornflower blue with a slight purple tint that gives it something extra.
I am not usually a big fan of silver nail varnish as I think it looks a bit… teenage. But this surprised me. It has an almost foil-like finish and has a hint of purple mixed in with the silver that makes it a bit more grown up and classy.
Like all Collection 2000 polishes, this had full coverage in 2 coats and dried really quickly.
Polish #5 from the Collection 2000 competition prize and another favourite. This is a tropical pink creme polish with a slight neon tint to it. Perfect for summer (which apparently arrived in London today - finally!)
Like the other Collection 2000 polishes I have swatched, this manicure took 3 coats.
This is polish number 4 from my Collection 2000 competition win. And it is the one I was most excited about trying.
This is a bright, chartreuse (yellow-green) creme polish. I have been lusting after Nicki Minaj for OPI’s ‘Did It On ‘Em’ but, from seeing swatches online, I think this is a pretty good dupe.
The brush is really wide so application is really quick, but this did need 3 coats for total coverage (about average for Collection 2000 polishes from what I’ve seen). But each coat dries really quickly so it’s not a problem.
I am in love with this colour, I don’t want to take it off!
I have spoken about my love for Collection 2000 polishes in previous swaps so I will just recap: cheap, long-lasting, great colours, good application…BUY THEM!
Swatch #1 from the 24 I won in the Collection 2000 nail art competition :) This is a super pretty peach creme polish, very similar to Barry M ‘Peach Melba’ that I was loving a few weeks ago.
Great brush, great formula, dries quickly and goes with pretty much everything. What more could you want?
My prize for winning the Collection 2000 nail art competition arrived today: their whole range of polish! I am so excited! Thanks to everyone who voted, I really appreciate it.
Collection 2000 nail polishes are great: small bottles (8ml), every colour you can think of, fast drying and so cheap!
This is their pillar-box red, ‘Big Hair’. This is two fast-drying coats, the brush is a good size and it didn’t smell like death like some cheaper polishes do. Win!
I am also love, love, LOVING the almond nails painted red. They feel deliciously 80s!
