SWATCH: 17 ‘Potion’

I bought this polish ages ago but took so long to get round to swatching it that I forgot how pretty it looked. I think I first picked it up hoping that it was a Chanel ‘Peridot’ dupe.

And I was pleasantly surprised! It’s one of the best dupes I’ve seen for the Chanel beauty. It’s a gorgeous green/gold duochrome that just seems to glow. It is hard not to keep looking at it, as the colours flash and change every time you move.

If you have been lusting after the Chanel version but are low on funds then I would definitely recommend this.

This is two coats with Seche Vite.

SWATCH: Nails Inc ‘New Kings Road’
The third Nails Inc polish from the Midas Touch collection. It a vivid sheer blue polish with gold flecks. I was prepared not to like this as I’m not huge fan of blue polish. But the shimmery duochrome effect really sold me on this colour.
The only downside it how sheer it is: this was 4 coats and you can still see a nail line in some lights. All the polishes in this collection probably only work as topcoats over creme polishes.

The third Nails Inc polish from the Midas Touch collection. It a vivid sheer blue polish with gold flecks. I was prepared not to like this as I’m not huge fan of blue polish. But the shimmery duochrome effect really sold me on this colour.

This is the second duochrome polish from the ‘Midas Touch’ collection. In person it is more orangey-bronze in daylight and this vivid fuchsia pink in artificial light.
This was only two coats, topped up with Seche Vite.

SWATCH: Nails Inc - ‘Wardour Mews’
This is one of the Nails Inc polishes I got in my TK Maxx haul. This came in the Midas Touch collection of 4 glittery pretty colours.
Wardour Mews is a sheer lilac with gold foil effect duochrome finish. The first picture shows it with a flash and as you can see it looks a more vivid purple with gold flecks. The bottom two pictures show it in direct sunlight, which is when the beautiful duochrome comes in. It goes almost pinky lilac and the gold glows. Beautiful.
This manicure is 3 coats of polish and could probably do with another as there’s a faint VNL there. I also used two layers of top coat and it still feels a bit gritty, but I can handle that for this colour.

Swatch - OPI ‘Pompeii Purple’

Another birthday polish! I did wonder why this was called ‘Pompeii Purple’ as it’s so obviously a hot pink, but as you can see in the pictures the purple/blue flash gives it a duochrome effect that makes it purple. This is two coats, but I would probably go with three if I was wearing this alone.

As much as I love this polish, I was getting a bit bored of plain, one-colour manicures…so I added some leopard print to the tips!
