I bought this in Dubai on my last holiday when it was sunny and hot and all I wanted was a neon polish on my fingers. This was perfect.
Back in the cold, miserable UK it seems slightly too bright… but still love it. I did a base coat of white polish and then 3 coats of orange. It took quite a long time to dry, even with Seche Vite. Also… I only noticed when I was taking these photos that it says ‘for artifical nails only’. Oh well!
Not the best polish I’ve ever tried, but it fulfilled my holiday neon craving so I’m happy!
Another polish from OPI’s Euro Centrale collection. This is a bright, orangey-red creme with a light shimmer that I didn’t notice in the bottle. This is two coats with Seche Vite.
This is the beautifully bright ‘Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes’. A clear based polish with varying sizes of glitter in orange, yellow, red and gold. Also, I have never ever seen the appeal of bar glitter but I LOVE it in this.
This is one layer of WWW over Collection 2000’s ‘Blue Hawaii’, topped with Seche Vite. I did have to do some placement of the glitter but nothing too difficult.
I have spoken before about my love for Rimmel polish: on-trend colours, great wear and so cheap! I have lots of reds, oranges and corals, but this polish falls somewhere in the middle which I love. It’s so hard to find different colours to the ones I already have (which may have something to do with the size of my collection but shush!)
I guess I should have expected it from the polish name but HOLY MOLY this is bright. There are no filters or effects on these pictures, that is actually how bright it is! This polish needed 2 coats and this is shown with a top coat.
It’s a bit summery for November but I just couldn’t resist it in the Models Own sale!
This is my final nail varnish from the Paris Sephora haul and it is the most summery of the lot. ‘Y’all Come Back Ya Hear?’ is a bright orange jelly from the 2011 Texas collection. As it’s a jelly, it takes about 5 coats to reach my desired opacity, so I layered it over a thin coat of white polish instead. This is then 3 coats of YCBYH.
I love how bright this polish is - it makes me so happy!
I have spoken about my love for Collection 2000 polishes in previous swaps so I will just recap: cheap, long-lasting, great colours, good application…BUY THEM!
This is the second duochrome polish from the ‘Midas Touch’ collection. In person it is more orangey-bronze in daylight and this vivid fuchsia pink in artificial light.
This was only two coats, topped up with Seche Vite.
I have owned this polish since last summer (when I bought a huge haul of Gabrini nail varnish) but only swatched it on a nail wheel. I have been seeing neon nails EVERYwhere and needed something to brighten my day up seeing as the UK is drowning in torrential rain at the moment.
This certainly did the job! The camera couldn’t even capture just how eye-wateringly neon this colour is. It actually hurt my eyes in direct sunlight!
This is two coats over a white base as it’s a jelly polish so very sheer. I love it. And Gabrini polish is so cheap…ideal.
This little beauty is one of the two polishes I got from the new O.P.I Holland collection. This one is called ‘A Roll in the Hague’.
It is a really vivid red-orange creme that is almost neon on nails. I feel so happy and summery whenever I look at my nails!
Usually O.P.I nail varnish applies perfectly and has a lovely silky consistency so I think I might have got a bad bottle as this came out quite gloopy and thick. Some thinner should sort that out hopefully.
Day 2 of the 31 day challenge and the theme was ‘Orange’. I adore this nail varnish: it is a glorious colour and it was also free! Double bonus. Nails Inc and the magazine InStyle did a set of three polishes and I trawled shops so I could get this one.
It’s a vivid, shiny orange creme polish that goes on really well and lasts for ages. It’s really summery which makes me a bit sad that I’ll be putting it away for a while now!
Tomorrow is ‘Yellow’. I don’t own one so I’m either going to try to make one myself, or (more likely) will have to buy one!!
