SWATCH: OPI ‘Lights Of Emerald City’
This is one of my birthday polishes and I absolutely adore it - it is like nothing else I own (which is hard work with so many polishes!). This is a clear base with large, matte, white, square glitter and small holographic square glitter. The four thumb photos show the colour changes in the holo glitter - so pretty!
This layered over Nails Inc ‘The Thames’: one of my favourite grey polishes.

My lovely OH Aaron bought me 3 polishes from the new OPI collection, themed around the new ‘Oz the Great and Powerful’ film.
This is ‘Which Is Witch?’, ‘When Monkeys Fly!’ and ‘Lights of Emerald City’. So pretty!!

NOTD: Kiko ‘244’
Today’s manicure is Kiko’s yummy, squishy jelly polish, the exotically named ‘244’ (!). This is a dramatic, dark purple - almost black. I was pleasantly surprised that this applied perfectly in two coats, which is unusual for a jelly polish to be so pigmented and not to leave bald spots.
Kiko are rapidly becoming one of my favourite polishes, although I found out recently that they are a lot more expensive in the UK than elsewhere in Europe… who’s up for a trip to Italy to stock up??

SWATCH: OPI ‘Vant To Bite My Neck?’
This is another polish from OPI’s recent ‘Euro Centrale’ collection. It’s a striking aubergine purple creme. This could have been a one coater if I’d been more careful, but as is it took 2 thin coats. It also dried to a really high shine, but I am now too lazy to wait for nail polish to dry so I topped it with Seche Vite.

Revlon ‘One Perfect Coral’
My love for Revlon’s polishes grows every time I use one. I bought this just before I went on holiday as it is the perfect colour for sunshine - coral is such a pretty colour and this one is just on the right side of orange.
This is 3 coats, which surprised me as most of their polishes are two coaters, topped with Seche Vite.

SWATCH: OPI ‘Don’t Talk Bach To Me’
This is from the OPI Germany collection (I love the name!). This is a greeny-yellow toned shimmery polish. It is so unusual, I couldn’t decide if I liked it or not for a long time. But I think I’m falling on the side of ‘like’. It feels perfect for spring.
This was two coats with Seche Vite.

SWATCH: OPI ‘My Paprika Is Hotter Than Yours’
Another polish from OPI’s Euro Centrale collection. This is a bright, orangey-red creme with a light shimmer that I didn’t notice in the bottle. This is two coats with Seche Vite.

SWATCH: OPI ‘You’re such a Budapest’
This is from the new Euro Centrale collection - a lovely lilac creme with a subtle shimmer that you can only see in bright sunlight.
Also, this name is definitely one of my favourites of all the OPI puns!

SWATCH: Essie ‘Chinchilly’
This is another polish that has been on my wishlist for a while. I have a thing for grey polish. I don’t know what it is about it that I like so much: it’s classy but interesting, simple but eye-catching… I don’t know.
And this is a lovely grey. It’s almost lavender-toned in certain lights and looks soft. I’ve described greys as ‘dove grey’ before, but I think this is the truest representation of that description that I’ve seen.
This took two coats and is topped with Seche Vite.

SWATCH: Essie ‘Stylenomics’
This is from the 2012 Essie ‘Stylenomics’ collection. It is a lovely dark green with hints of grey. It is interesting enough to make it look less goth-like, but dark enough to still be vampy. I like it!
This was perfect coverage in 2 coats, topped with Seche Vite.

SWATCH: Model’s Own ‘Utopia’
I bought this polish when Model’s Own were having their amazing sale months ago and I am regretting not trying this until now. It is so beautiful and I have wasted so much time when I could have been wearing it. *kicks self*
This is a soft, pale lilac creme polish. It only needed two coats and this is topped with Seche Vite.

SWATCH: Lac Attack ‘Beauxbaton Academy’
Another polish from the Lac Attack ‘Magical Musings’ collection. This is definitely one of the prettiest in the set - a milky sheer base with bright blue circles, tiny blue specks, large white square and small gold speck glitter. I love polish like this as it’s a jelly sandwich in a bottle!
This is two coats with no base. Seche Vite on top.

SWATCH: Barry M’s Textured Effects ‘Station Road’.
I swatched the peach colour from this collection earlier this week and now I can’t decide which one I like the most.
This is just as unusual in its finish: a grainy, matte texture. But this has a glitter to it that catches the sun which really adds something to it.
These textured finish nails had such a mixed reaction on Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr - they might not be your kind of thing but they are certainly eye-catching!

This is the beautifully bright ‘Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes’. A clear based polish with varying sizes of glitter in orange, yellow, red and gold. Also, I have never ever seen the appeal of bar glitter but I LOVE it in this.
This is one layer of WWW over Collection 2000’s ‘Blue Hawaii’, topped with Seche Vite. I did have to do some placement of the glitter but nothing too difficult.

I bought this polish ages ago but took so long to get round to swatching it that I forgot how pretty it looked. I think I first picked it up hoping that it was a Chanel ‘Peridot’ dupe.
And I was pleasantly surprised! It’s one of the best dupes I’ve seen for the Chanel beauty. It’s a gorgeous green/gold duochrome that just seems to glow. It is hard not to keep looking at it, as the colours flash and change every time you move.
If you have been lusting after the Chanel version but are low on funds then I would definitely recommend this.
