I was nominated! 30 Plus Blog Awards

I can’t really believe I’m writing this. It’s been less than 24 hours and it still hasn’t sunk in… but I was nominated for three (!) 30 Plus Blog Awards. What. WHAT?!

The nominees were published yesterday and I’ve had so many lovely messages since then that I’m totally overwhelmed. I’ve been nominated for

• Next Big Thing
• Most Innovative Content
• Blogger Of The Year

I can’t even say the last one out loud without doing a little squeak afterwards as it’s just so bizarre and crazy to hear. I am absolutely thrilled with all of the nominations but I think ‘Most Innovative Content’ is the one that made me super emotional yesterday (and still does now when I think about it too hard!) Blogging is so huge at the moment which is amazing, but it does make it really difficult to stand out. So to get recognition for making content that is seen to be innovative is truly mind-blowing. As I said in THIS blog post, for a long time I compared my blog, my face, my lifestyle, to completely unattainable bloggers and it’s only recently that I’ve come to see my blog in its own right, with no comparisons to others. Being up for ‘The Next Big Thing’ is particularly mad for me as I’ve been blogging for a while but it’s only in the past year that I’ve really felt like I’ve found my niche and my confidence so I’m absolutely thrilled.

Thank you so much to every one who nominated me, I honestly can’t even believe I made the shortlist out of 600+ plus bloggers. But – you knew this was coming – I really need your help with voting as I am up against some serious blogger heavyweights. Honestly, the calibre of the other bloggers in my categories is incredible and I feel flipping lucky to be included alongside them. Please, please, please vote for me HERE. It only takes a minute and I will love you for all time. Voting is open until the 21st of July so I’m just preparing you for me talking about it a lot. I’m not even sorry, this is probably the proudest I’ve ever been. Since quitting my job and going full time as a freelancer, I’ve had many moments of doubt that I’ve done the right thing but this has made all the stress worth it.

I’m going to stop waffling and say please and thank you more time – please vote before the 21st and thank you for all the comments, shares, likes, RTs and support you’ve all given me in the past few years. It means the absolute world to me. And now I’m going to continue to run round my flat screaming with excitement!
