Collection 2 Step Solar Shine Gels

If you’re a fan of the new hybrid gel nail varnishes then my blog this week will be right up your street – I’ve got another review for you. And this one is a very affordable option. Let’s take a look at the Collection 2 Step Solar Shine Gels!

Collection 2 Step Solar Shine Gels

The new strain of gel polishes are great if you want the look and feel of a real gel polish: they’re incredibly shiny, smooth and are designed to last for longer than a regular nail varnish. But they’re also great for people who don’t have the time, patience or money to get gels applied, as well as being a bit easier on your nails.

The Collection 2 Step Solar Shine Gels are very affordable (£3.99 each) and have some really great colours. They are designed to be used with the Solar Shine Gel Top Coat, a thick top coat which means it really plumps out the polish but still dries quickly.

And the most exciting from the range is this beauty: the Collection 2 Step Solar Shine Gel in ‘Jungle Fever’*. It’s a vibrant apple green that is so summery and eye-catching and I flipping love it. This was two fairly thick coats.

If you’re looking for a classic summery pink-coral then this is the one for you: Collection 2 Step Solar Shine Gel ‘Just Beachy‘*. It’s not a stand out shade like the one above, but it’s so flattering and very pretty. This needed two careful coats – it tended to drag slightly on the second coat so beware of bald spots. However the top coat smoothed everything out very well.

These polishes lasted for about 8-9 days on me before I started to see a few chips at the sides of my nails. This might be because the formula is fairly thick, so perhaps 3 thin coats might increase longevity.

I am really impressed by the Collection 2 Step Solar Shine Gels, especially for the price. There is a dark blackcurrant shade that I definitely have my eye on for A/W… Which is your favourite from the above? The classic pink or the bright green?
