Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless #RosaceaReview

It’s time for another Rosacea Review! In case you haven’t seen, I try out foundations on my YouTube channel to see how well they cover my rosacea redness. Today’s video features the Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless foundation.

Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless

I picked up the Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless foundation in Boots and I think it might be new as I haven’t seen it before. I have very oily skin and love a matte finish so this sounded like it would be a winner for me. This video also features a bit of a rave about the Beauty Blender, which is my current favourite way to apply make up. It gives such a perfect finish and doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. If you haven’t tried one I really recommend you order one as soon as possible!

All the products used are listed at the very bottom of this post, along with links to buy.

Click the video below to watch, and you can click through to YouTube to subscribe if you feel like making my day!

Let me know in the comments below if you have any foundation recommendations, especially if they are matte and high coverage! I am always in the market for a new foundation to try so feel free to enable me.

I was really impressed too, especially as it’s such a lightweight formula!

My husband suffers with Rosacea. This gives you a great coverage and I love the shade of lipstick you’ve chosen x

I can’t even imagine how frustrating it must be to have rosacea as a man, I rely on make up so much. Thank you very much for your comment 🙂

I love the sound of this foundation. I suffer with oily skin so it would be ideal for me.

The highstreet brands seem to be getting a lot better at catering for oily skin, this is a great one!

The coverage of the foundation seems to have done wonders on your face. Have to admit I have massively got onto the beauty blender bandwagon recently x

I have a sponge this egg shape from the craft shop, it’s for adding distress ink to paper projects!

    • 26th September 2016 / 11:35 am

The Beauty Blender makes such a huge difference to the finish of the make up, I can’t believe it took me so long to get on board!

How’s the lasting power? Your skin always looks really smooth though. Perhaps my sub-type of rosacea is a bit different as my skin is never smooth. Especially in the nose area, mega pores!
Have you tried Boots 17 Stay Time? I recently trialled some No.7 beautifully matte but the shades were off the scale weird. The Stay Time formula seems pretty much identical, more shades and actually half the price. I quite like it, I’ve still not managed a smooth finish mind. But I think that’s just my pain in the backside stupid face!

    • 26th September 2016 / 11:40 am

Without primer and powder it does get a bit oily on my t zone, but I’m super oily so that’s fairly standard.
When I was first diagnosed (and for the first 5 years or so) my skin was very bumpy and uneven but my subtype has changed over time as I’ve changed my diet, lifestyle and skin care.
I don’t think I’ve tried Stay Time but I’ll look out for it. I actually love the No7 Beautifully Matte but you do need to get colour matched – the range is so huge and has a great selection of warm, neutral and cool undertones so if you go slightly off shade it will look bonkers! I think mine is slightly too cool for me but I love it so I work round it :’D

I think when I got colour matched they didn’t really listen to me. I got totally freaked out by them insisting they wipe my face with some random cleanser which made my face red, and then they basically colour matched my really really red face I came out aa some kinda rose brown shade when I actually usually wear pinky ivory shades. It was such a horrible experience. I have a massive fear of anyone else going anywhere near my face so it took a lot for me to go & it was a really horrible experience. Mind you I also asked for samples of the paler shades and even they seemed very yellowy so still not right anyway.
I may give the Maybelline a go as I’m about to run out of old faithful, the rimmel 25hr!

Hi. I wasn’t really sure where to ask this question 🙂 But here goes. I find it hard to make face “swallow” all my products. I use a cream from the dermatologist, a mousturizer, sunscreen and foundation from la roche posay and a primer, but I get little chunks of products around my face, even though I use small amounts. Do you have any advice, because your make always seems flawless and very even, and I struggle with that.

This foundation looks amazing on your skin. Do you have any recommendations for dry skin? I often find foundation looks patchy on my cheeks. I’m currently using chanel vitalumiere aqua compact which is great at covering my rosacea but it has been discontinued!! X

    • 19th April 2017 / 7:58 pm

Francesca – I have roseacea and occasional hormonal spot outbreaks and my skin tends to be dry. I haven’t tried the maybelline foundation so don’t know how it’d go on dry skin. My current favourites are Bourjois Healthy Mix ‘Serum’ Foundation (I find shade 52 vanilla better in the Bourjois serum foundation than the equivalent healthy mix standard foundation – and although the serum foundation is supposed to be lighter coverage I think it’s very buidable and didn’t notice much difference in coverage). I also like Lancome Teint Idole foundation – it goes on well and lasts all day. Also, I’ve started using a Real Techniques damp complexion sponge to apply foundation and much prefer it to using a brush.

I found this foundation didn’t help me. It slid off lifted from my oily zone

I’m sorry to hear that, it’s one I would use a primer and setting powder with as my forehead and nose get oily by the end of the day. Did you notice a difference with a primer or powder?
