A few weekends ago my wonderful friends, Paul and Alice, got married in the Lake District and it was flipping lovely. A beautiful location, a fun and very ‘them’ wedding, combined with a stay in a cute little Airbnb with great friends all made it a weekend to remember. A few people asked me to blog what I wore, so here is my spring wedding guest OOTD featuring this stunning red dress.
I spend most days in loungewear (and for ‘loungewear, read: pyjamas) with unwashed hair and no make up… so I get very excited when I have an excuse to get dressed up. I didn’t want to spend a fortune so I had a nosey on Boohoo.com and this beautiful dress jumped out at me straight away. It’s one of those Self-Portrait-inspired dresses that have been everywhere for a while and I am in LOVE with it. I’m also so proud of myself that I didn’t go for the easy black option as I usually would. Maybe 2017 will be my year of colour! All of these photos were taken by the lovely Jen – go check her out if you are a vegan or thinking about going vegan, she’s a dream.
It’s called the Boutique Eva Corded Strappy Skater Dress and it is a beautiful raspberry red shade that really suits my pale skin and blonde hair. It has a short, lined under-skirt to protect your modesty without stealing the limelight from the delicate dress detailing. The lacy inserts do actually expose the skin on your waist so that’s worth bearing in mind if you don’t want to show skin.
I paired it with an All Saints leather jacket (similar HERE), Aspinal clutch* (similar HERE), ASOS heels (similar HERE), and my Chanel pearl necklace which I rarely get to wear so was really excited to take it out!
I also tried to get Aaron in on the photos as it’s so rare for us to look presentable at the same time. He has less patience with photos than me… and he also finds it impossible to be serious, as you can see below!
What’s your go-to outfit for a spring wedding guest outfit? How would you style this dress? Let me know in the comments below!

Hey Lex! Random question, but how tall are you? I want to get this dress for a wedding (copycat) but not sure if it will be a strange length on short me. Thanks xx

Hello! I’m 5ft 5 and 3/4 (the fraction is very important to me). I hope that helps! x
