#RosaceaReview: The Ordinary Coverage Foundation

A few weeks ago I reviewed The Ordinary Serum Foundation (you can watch that review HERE) and as soon as that review went live, lots of people asked me to also review The Ordinary Coverage Foundation as well*. Ask and you shall receive!

#RosaceaReview The Ordinary Coverage Foundation

As mentioned in my previous review, The Ordinary (owned by DECIEM) are probably the stand out skincare brand of the past few years. A combination of very affordable prices and high potency ingredients resulted in a lot of buzz. I’ve reviewed quite a few bits from their skincare ranges, so when I heard they were bringing out foundations I was very excited. As I have rosacea, I was immediately drawn to the Coverage foundation as I’m always looking for something that will cover my redness without irritating my skin. However, I was absolutely amazed at how much I liked the Serum foundation – I won’t repeat myself as I say it all in the other review, but from the amount I liked it, I was even more excited to try The Ordinary Coverage foundation.

You can read more about The Ordinary Coverage foundation HERE. It is slightly – and I meant slightly! – more expensive than the Serum version (£5.90 rather than £5.75… that’s not a typo!) and I’m shade 1.1P in both foundations.

I filmed a short video showing how the foundation applies, how well it covers my rosacea redness, and talk about how it feels on the skin. I also do a direct comparison with the Serum foundation, so if you’re torn on which one to go for this video will help.

PRODUCTS USED: The Ordinary Coverage foundation, Beauty Blender sponge, The Ordinary Serum foundation.

I hope you liked this video. Have you tried The Ordinary Coverage foundation, or the Serum version? What were your thoughts? Are there any foundations you would like to see me review? Let me know in the comments below! Be the first to see my new YouTube videos by subscribing HERE.

Awesome, thanks for the review. I have Rosacea too and find the ordinary niacinimide and zinc liquid really helpful for controlling the bumps that kinda look like pimples that I get on my forehead although I do use it on my whole face. Have you tried this yet?

Thank you for the comment Kathleen. I did try the Niacinamide and found it helped my oily skin, but it didn’t have any effect on my rosacea but I have the flushing type of rosacea so think it’s a bit better for the bumpy type (type 2).

I have both these foundations and I really rate both of them – and I speak as someone who is ultra-picky about foundations. I find the serum one actually has a little more coverage than Deciem suggest, which is great as I have a bit of pigmentation/scarring. I usually wear the serum one during the day and/or when my skin’s at it’s best, and the fuller coverage one when I’ve got blemishes or want a more evening-ish, full-face look.

I also love The Ordinary’s alpha-arbutin serum, the niacinimide & zinc fluid, the retinoid products and the glycolic toner. All SO cheap and super-effective.

I’m so pleased you like them as much as me. I was really surprised at how good the coverage of the serum was, it was a really pleasant surprise. It’s such a wonderful brand, and constantly bringing out new and exciting products!

Is there a high street supplier or just online? I have no idea what colour to go for looking at the website! Any advice appreciated x
