It has been about 8 months since my last Skincare Shake Up which is bonkers considering I used to do these updates every single month. The last update was after my incredible appointment with Consultant Dermatologist, Dr Justine Kluk. There are a lot of products that are still in place in my routine since then, as well as some new discoveries.
If you’ve seen this post about my dermatologist appointment and resulting skin changes, you’ll know that the final straw before seeing Dr Justine Kluk was the spread of my perioral dermatitis. I’ve always had issues with my eyes due to ocular rosacea (you can read more about that HERE) but the changes became unbearable.
Things have been a little quiet on the blog in the past 6 months and we are long overdue a catch up about my skin as a lot has happened and I’ve had a lot of questions on instagram and FB about how I’ve been coping with it. So get settled for my Skincare Shake Up, covering the past few months.
I have been talking about and recommending the La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 on this blog for many years. I first discovered it in France when I would wander around the pharmacies for hours, picking up bottles and tubes and buying anything that said ‘soothing’, ‘cooling’ or ‘for sensitive skin’. Recently La Roche-Posay released Cicaplast Gel B5 and I have been trying it out for a few months, wanting to gather my thoughts before I shared them with you.
I decided to combine July and August’s Skincare Shake Up post as my skin has been a bit tricky recently and I wanted to make absolutely sure that my skincare wasn’t contributing to that. It’s been flipping warm in the UK, I did some travelling, and I’ve also had a busy and stressful couple of months with work – a perfect storm for reactive skin.
