Some of you may have seen that we adopted a dog. His name is Douglas and he is the best thing that has ever happened to us. However, one of the downsides of having a dog is their need to pee outside, even when it’s freezing cold outside with horizontal sleet that soaks you through and makes you feel like your skin is peeling off. My winter skincare routine adapts each year, but this winter I think I’ve really nailed my added extras. Some of the winter skincare products below are ones that I’ve loved for years, alongside some new favourites, hopefully you’ll find one that appeals and can help you.

Things have been a little quiet around here since lockdown began. Part of that has been because of, you know, the global pandemic (!) but also it’s because I’ve been beavering away on something really exciting.
Have you heard people raving about the benefits of positive affirmations, or affirmation cards, but have no idea what they are talking about? Know what they are but feel unsure how they work or how they can work for you? This post is for you.
When I first started this blog, I used to try out new skincare all the time. Those of you who have been here a while will remember that I used to do monthly Skincare Shake Ups, where I would switch up my whole routine at the start of each month. I did this partly because I flipping love skincare and am always on the hunt for the newest thing that might transform my skin, but partly I did it so that I could better give advice to more people. I get a lot of questions asking for affordable options, some want luxury treats, others want vegan options, or at least cruelty-free options, or products available in specific countries, things from independent brands, things available online… the list is endless and I wanted to try to find things that worked for any or all of you. Sadly, as we all know, sensitive skin – and particularly rosacea – thrives on routine. My skin has never been happier since I stopped switching skincare so often, relying on my tried and true products that I know won’t let me down.
Because of this, I tend to turn down most new product launches unless they’re offering something new, exciting, or different. Which brings me to today’s blog post: a SVR Sensifine skincare range review.
Over the past year I’ve noticed an increase in the amount of questions I get about confidence. The rise of the skin positivity movement and a growing acceptance (at least inside our communities) of different skin types and appearances is wonderful, but it leaves some people feeling anxious or left behind. People want to be skin positive, they would love to embrace their natural skin, but have no idea how to learn to accept the flaws that they’ve disliked for so long.
If you watched my recent Instagram Live with Bioderma, I touched on the topic of confidence a little and so you might recognise the themes below.
