Collection 2000 ‘Starlet’ Nail Varnish

Yes, I am *still* ploughing through the Collection 2000 nail art competition prize, they seem to be never ending. I think I’ve liked every single colour I won so far and this one is no exception.

Nails Inc’s new special effects ‘Sprinkles’ collection is inspired by baking, more specifically cake decoration. There are 4 in the range and I was at the counter for AGES trying to pick which one to get. But this one kept catching my eye more than the others.

A creamy blue sheer base with densely-packed baby blue, baby pink and silver mini glitters: this is a jelly sandwich manicure in one product! In the close up photos, you can see the first layer of glitter peeking out through the second layer of sheer base. I am in love.

The glitter goes on well, you don’t have to place the glitter in bald spots. And this is 2 coats of glitter, so you can see how well it layers.

The polish dries slightly matte, which I like. But I added a generous layer of top coat as it is a bit gritty when dry. I am happy to put up with that though as it looks just like frosting on cupcakes…so pretty.

I am going to have to get the other 3 in the collection as I can’t get enough!

Barry M Mint Green 304 Review

Pastels are an eternal love of mine. They cheer me up and make me feel summery even when it has been raining (seemingly) forever.

This mint green is perfection. It only needs 2 good coats (rare for a pastel creme polish), dried quickly and resisted chips very well considering it’s a fairly cheap brand. I also love that it looks almost neon in some lights, it’s so bright. It’s a pastel with a bit of a kick! You can get this polish HERE.

I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again: Barry M, I salute you.

This is another lovely Collection 2000 polish that I didn’t think I was going to like…but that has proved me wrong. Blue polish isn’t one of my favourites. I don’t know why I just don’t ever feel drawn towards blue so I wasn’t particularly excited about trying this. But this is an interesting cornflower blue with a slight purple tint that gives it something extra.

Collection 2000 is perfect in 2 coats, and has quite a shiny finish but these photos show the manicure topped with Seche Vite.

(EDIT Feb ’16: It looks like this nail polish is no longer available but you can see the current nail varnish range HERE)

The super lovely @FabFingertips1 sent me this beautiful polish as nail mail and I swatched it ages ago but completely forgot to take photos. So here it is, finally! LA Colours Magnetic Force NP415 is a coral pink creme polish with a gorgeously summery gold shimmer when it catches the light. LA Colour polishes are very affordable (I think they’re about £1 in the places near me which is ridiculous).

This polish is perfect in two coats. If you can get your hands on some LA Colours, I really recommend them. You can see the full range on their website HERE.
