Rebuy or Bye Bye #1

Rebuy or Bye Bye #1

Rebuy or Bye Bye #1: July/August

This is my first empties post. Empties posts are quite controversial in the bloggersphere: some hate them and see them as pointless and gross. I, on the other hand, find them fascinating. They are mini-reviews in the themselves plus, when you consider how many products us beautyphiles use, it’s pretty amazing to actually finish products!

There’s a lot to get through so let’s get going:

Soap & Glory ‘Clean On Me’ – This isn’t a groundbreaking shower gel but it’s huge and smells lovely so it gets the thumbs up from me. It actually won Company’s Beauty Award for ‘Best Showergel’ so I guess I’m not alone! I wouldn’t go out of my way to pick this over anything else, but I already had a replacement (2 actually) in my stash! This is £6.00 HERE.

Batiste dry shampoo, ‘Original’ and ‘Tropical – I use so much dry shampoo that I always go for the 400ml cans. I love dry shampoo as I’m lazy and hate washing my hair, but also use it on clean hair to give texture and lift. Batiste is £4.99 (but on 3 for 2 in Boots at the moment – I will be stocking up!) you can buy it HERE

Eucerin Hyaluron Filler Concentrate – Heralded as a miracle product on blogs and forums. Hyaluronic acid is supposed to increase your skin’s ability to hold moisture. Each ampule is meant to last a week, morning and evening application. I used 3 and have seen no difference. I have given up on the other 3, so a waste of money! They are £31.00 for 6 ampules, you can get them HERE

Seche Vite Professional Kit – I go through so much Seche Vite that it seemed silly to keep buying little bottles. This set comes with a regular sized bottle as well as the huge 118ml bottle you see here. This lasts me about 5 months, filling the small bottle about 8 times. Considering a 14ml bottle is £9 in Boots this is a much better purchase. It’s about £19.00 HERE

Crazy Color ‘Candyfloss’ – This stuff is pretty good but washes out super quickly. It is a lovely colour though, so it’s a good one if you only want a temporary colour. You can get them for £2.50 (+£1.50 P&P) HERE

Revlon ‘Photoready’ primer – I gave up on this primer 2/3 of the way through. It wasn’t a terrible primer but it only kept my face matte until mid-afternoon which isn’t good enough for me. It had a smooth, silky texture and a small amount goes quite far. I didn’t see any change in pore size, pigment or line-smoothing. It is £11.99 HERE

Rimmel ‘Scandaleyes’ mascara – I love this mascara and have already started using my replacement of the same. Big, bold eyelashes in a really deep black. It doesn’t smudge under eyes and layers really well. Perfect. It’s £6.99 HERE

Soap & Glory ‘Archery’ in ‘Love is blonde’ – my favourite eyebrow product. It has a pen at one end and a pencil at the other. I reviewed it HERE. I already have my replacement in stock as I can’t be without it. It is £10 HERE

Garnier Nutritionist Eye – This did absolutely nothing except add a pointless step to my morning routine. I didn’t see any moisturising benefits or changes to the lines round my eyes. I gave up half way through! It is £9.99 HERE

Maybelline ‘Dream touch Lumi Concealer’ – This is a twist-up concealer pen with a brush tip. It was quite good for covering eye-bags but I found that it creased quite easily and went quite powdery by the end of the day. Also the brush quickly became quite dishevelled and messy. Yuk. It is £6.99 HERE

17 ‘Tattoo Me’ liquid eyeliner – I bought this not realising it was a flimsy brush rather than a pen style eyeliner. I didn’t get on with it and it went really lumpy after a few weeks. Also, it transferred onto my eye socket, even when using a primer. It is £4.99 HERE

Topshop eye crayons – These were gorgeous colours (a sparkly graphite grey and a burnt sparkly bronze) and creamy and easy to blend. But every time I used them my eyes itched and felt sore for hours afterwards. It pained me to throw them away but they just aren’t worth it. I have a feeling it might just be me as others seem to love them. I can’t see the chunky eyeliners on the Topshop website any more, but you can their current range HERE.

Phew that’s a lot of talking! Have you tried any of these products? What did you think?
