La Roche Posay Effaclar BB Blur

When I was given the new La Roche Posay Effaclar BB Blur* at an event I thought it sounded interesting but I was put off by the ‘BB’ aspect. I’m a huge fan of Japanese BB creams but the UK versions are a totally different beast: light coverage, dewy and nowhere near suitable for covering my rosacea redness. However, I am happy to say I was very wrong about this little tube of magic.

If you want to read about my rosacea in more depth you can do so HERE. But to summarise what I’m looking for in make up: I need something that is heavy coverage to ensure my redness doesn’t peek through. But it can’t be heavy in thickness and consistency, otherwise my skin becomes aggravated and can trigger a flare up. Do you see the problem? I typically have had to choose between mask-like foundations that leave me looking flawless but feeling uncomfortable…or wear make up that makes my skin feel cared for but ultimately leaves me feeling self conscious due to my rosacea still being on show.

So I have made it my mission to find make up that covers all bases – I *know* they exist out there. Follow my #rosaceareview series to find make up and skincare that is either designed for or suitable for rosacea and sensitive, atypical skin.

If you’d like to see my first impressions and mini review of the new La Roche Posay Effaclar BB Blur cream then click below. Don’t forget to subscribe and give it a thumbs up!

Here are the basics you need to know – it’s oil-free, non-comedogenic (great for blemish-prone skin), contains no perfumes or parabens and also has SPF20.

It’s available exclusively at Escentual and is currently on offer – go go go!

EDIT: I’ve had a lot of questions about the brush I used in this video. It’s the Zoeva Buffing Brush and it’s my favourite. You can buy it HERE.
