If you’re a regular round these parts then you’ll know that Avéne are probably my all time favourite skincare brand. I’ve tried so many of their products over the years and every one has had a calming and soothing effect on my rosacea. So the launch of the new Avéne Tolérance EXTRÊME range got me very excited…
This is a sponsored post with Avéne*.
I first heard about the Avéne Tolérance EXTRÊME range when I went to Avéne for the press trip a few months ago (you can read all about the trip HERE). It was still top secret back then so I couldn’t write about it but I’ve been dying to!
There are only five products in the range and none of them have more than eight ingredients. That sounds pretty impressive by itself but just in case you’re not impressed enough, take a quick look at some of the products you have to hand and count the ingredients. 15? 20? …30? It’s probably something you don’t even think about until someone points it out!
Every product in the range includes the famous Avéne thermal water, but also ingredients that try to mimic the skin’s makeup. These include super fine textures that help the products sink into skin easily, and a pH of between 5.5 and 6 (skin’s natural pH is 5.5). The packaging includes a strange looking D.E.F.I cap: a bulky lid with a central post that pops out to dispense the product when you squeeze the bottle. It may look odd but it means that each product is completely sterile. The cap doesn’t allow air or any contaminants to enter the tube so it doesn’t need to contain preservatives, which can often irritate the skin. This means that it can be used after dermalogical procedures (like a peel) or a treatment that really dries out the skin (like roaccutane), as well as being great for people like me who have super sensitive skin that is easily aggravated. Basically it’s wonderful for anyone who wants to use something simple, gentle and that works!
You can see the range in its entirety HERE. I’ve been trying: the Tolérance EXTRÊME Cleansing Lotion is a very light milky cream cleanser; two moisturisers in the range – the Tolérance EXTRÊME Cream and the Tolérance EXTRÊME Emulsion (the first is for drier skin types while the second is for combination oily skin); and lastly, the Tolérance EXTRÊME Mask for an added boost of moisture. The cleanser currently on sale has eight ingredients, but the version I’ve been trialling is a new and reformulated version with only seven ingredients which is due to be released in January 2017.
I’ve already started to use the Avéne Tolérance EXTRÊME range. As you all know, I like to try products out for at least a month to make sure my rosacea doesn’t flare up. I will be doing another blog post on the results in a couple of weeks so keep an eye out for that (spoiler alert: I love them!)
