It has been about 8 months since my last Skincare Shake Up which is bonkers considering I used to do these updates every single month. The last update was after my incredible appointment with Consultant Dermatologist, Dr Justine Kluk. There are a lot of products that are still in place in my routine since then, as well as some new discoveries.
I am asked at least once a day ‘have you tried…*insert brand name*?’ and so I wanted to have blog post where I could direct people so they can have instant, easy access to my reviews of a each brand I’ve tried.
I decided to combine July and August’s Skincare Shake Up post as my skin has been a bit tricky recently and I wanted to make absolutely sure that my skincare wasn’t contributing to that. It’s been flipping warm in the UK, I did some travelling, and I’ve also had a busy and stressful couple of months with work – a perfect storm for reactive skin. I am never fully satisfied with my skincare routine. I am a total hussy when it comes to new products, always wondering if THE product that will transform my skin is just around the corner. I like to find affordable versions of high end products, I like to find independent brands who fill their skincare with as much love as they do science, and I also try to find things that suit all pockets and preferences. Every month when I select new products to try, I get really excited and I always look forward to telling you about them. So I’m pleased to present last month’s Skincare Shake Up featuring a few old favourites, new additions, and some exciting brand-new launches.
Some of you may have noticed that there was no Skincare Shake Up post last month. I ended up extending my holiday in France at the last minute and by the time I got back into London I had missed the beginning of the month change over. I didn’t want to try out products for less than a month because I like to give things a proper test, so I just started my new skincare routine when I got home and tried it out for half of July and all of August instead.
