The Japan Beauty and Skincare Haul
My long-suffering fiancé went to Japan recently and obviously I could not pass up the chance to give him a huge list of things I wanted him to pick up for me! He did an amazing job and got most of the things on the list (and some extras). I’m going to be doing reviews of the individual items once I’ve had chance to try them all out but here is a list of everything he got.
- Dolly Wink liquid eyeliner
- K-Palette eyebrow pen (I actually asked for eyeliner but I am SO PLEASED he got this wrong as I am IN LOVE with this eyebrow pen!)
- Fiberwig LX mascara by DJV Beautenizer
- Visee lash upswing long mascara
- Heroine Make mascara long & curl
- Shiseido Perfect Whip Foam Cleanser
- Shiseido Anessa Perfect UV SPF50
- DHC cleansing oil
- Hada Labo Goku-jyun Light Lotion
- Kanebo kracie moisturising extra rich face mask
- Dariya Black soy milk face mask
- Mandom beauty barrier repair hyaluronic acid face mask
- Kose cosmeport clear turn white Q10 face mask box
- Kanebo kracie lotion face mask box
- Kose cosmeport clear turn hyaluronic essence face mask box
- Hello Kitty socks (yes)
- Harry Potter wand chopsticks (YES)
- KitKat green tea flavour (OH MY GOD)
He did so well! Especially considering I gave him a list and he speaks no Japanese! I am desperate to go to Japan and have a feeling I would go even more crazy on beauty items. (EDIT: I went to Japan in Feb 2015 and you can see my hauls here Part 1 and here Part 2)
Everything I’ve tried so far has been wonderful. I’m a bit scared to use some of it because I don’t want it to run out! (Please tell me I’m not the only one who does this?)
Do you have any recommendations? I want to have a list prepared for my Japan trip!
Lac Attack Beauxbaton Academy
Another polish from the Lac Attack ‘Magical Musings’ collection. This is definitely one of the prettiest in the set – a milky sheer base with bright blue circles, tiny blue specks, large white square and small gold speck glitter. I love polish like this as it’s a jelly sandwich in a bottle!
This is two coats with no base colour and Seche Vite on top.
Lac Attack The Horcrux Of It
When I heard about the Lac Attack ‘Magical Musings’ collection and pored over the pre-launch swatches online, this was the polish I was most excited about. I was absolutely gutted when my first bottle was faulty but I got in contact with Ana and she was brilliant. Immediately apologetic and really helpful. She replaced the bottle and even sent me another bottle from the collection as an apology. Perfect and professional customer service makes me so happy!
Anyway! Back to this stunning polish. Lac Attach The Horcrux Of It is a sheer black base with a shed load of glitter: small green, small copper and large green hex. This is one coat over Rimmel’s ‘Black Cab’. Because there’s so much glitter packed in, I did do two coats of Seche Vite over the top to smooth it all out.
You can see my reviews of the other Lac Attack ‘Magical Musings’ polishes here: Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes, Dementia’s Kiss, Beauxbaton Academy, and Hogwarts.
This collection sold out in 20 minutes (Harry Potter and nail polish fans are a powerful combination!) so is sadly not available anymore. But you can find Lac Attack’s other beautiful polishes HERE.
Lac Attack Hogwarts Review
Here is another swatch from the incredible Lac Attack’s ‘Magical Musings’ collection. All of these polishes are so beautiful and this one is no exception.
It’s a clear base with an absolute butt load of multi-coloured, multi-sized glitter. This only needed two coats for this level of coverage and it didn’t need any glitter placement which is rare. I love how the glitter looks in the above picture, layered glitter is so satisfying for me, I don’t know why!
I think this may have replaced OPI’s ‘Rainbow Connection’ as my go-to glitterbomb. BIG claim!
This collection is sadly no longer available *sob* – it sold out in 20 minutes on launch night! But you can find the full Lac Attack range on Harlow&Co HERE.
If you want to see the other polishes I picked up from this collection, have a nosey here: The Horcrux Of It, Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes, and Dementor’s Kiss.
Lac Attack Dementor’s Kiss
My Lac Attack polishes arrived today and it was so hard to decide which to swatch first. I really love white, black and red as a colour combination so I picked Lac Attack Dementor’s Kiss.
This is a clear-based polish with multi-sized black hex glitter and large red hex glitter. Swoon!
These pictures show one coat of ‘Dementor’s Kiss’ over one coat of OPI’s ‘Skull and Glossbones’, with a top coat of Seche Vite. I am so impressed by the glitter and application. It almost reminds me of lace from far away.
I am so glad I got these polishes, I am seriously thrilled with them!
