How Do I Look? Amy on her Port Wine Stain

I hope you’ve been enjoying my new blog series, How Do I Look? For the past 6 years I have used this blog to talk about my rosacea but I wanted to open the conversation about skin positivity and visible differences so I can cover (and learn about) lots of different topics. Every week I am going to be talking to an inspirational and interesting person in order to share their story and experiences to educate, help, and support others.

Today’s interview is with Amy, who I first discovered when we appeared on Katie Piper’s Face to Face (although sadly we didn’t get to meet in person). She does so much to raise awareness of Port Wine Stain Birthmarks and her make up skills are unparalleled! I hope you enjoy this interview – if you do I would appreciate if you shared it with a friend or on social media. Anything you can do to help spread the skin positivity word is such a big help – after all we can’t change the way the world sees visible differences without being visible!

An interview with Amy about her Port Wine Stain. We chat skin positivity, birthmarks in the media, and the impact of skin differences on mental health. Amy shares her make up tips and advice. #talontedlex #birthmarktips #makeupadvice

How Do I Look? Susie On Telogen Effluvium (hair loss)

This is the fourth post in my new blog series, How Do I Look? and I’m so pleased that you are enjoying it so far – your messages and comments have been so encouraging, so thank you! I have used this blog to write about rosacea for the past 6 years and I wanted to open the conversation about skin positivity and visible differences so I can cover (and learn about) lots of different topics. Every week I am going to be talking to an inspirational and interesting person to share their story and experiences to help and support others.

Today’s post is dedicated to the effervescent Susie (@susiebluesyy). I ‘met’ her online years ago and she has been entertaining me and filling my timelines with joy ever since. We finally met in person 2 years ago when I was a guest on her (sadly now-defunct) podcast, The Try Pod. She has a complicated history with her health, which I will let her explain, but in this interview she is talking about her recent struggles with Telogen Effluvium. This interview is also very timely, as August is Hair Loss Awareness Month – please feel free to share this interview to help spread the word, educate others, and make sufferers feel less alone.

How Do I Look? Sofia On Acne

This is the second instalment in my new blog series, How Do I Look? I have written so much about rosacea in the past 6 years and I wanted to open the conversation about skin positivity and visible differences to cover lots of different topics. Every week I am going to be talking to inspirational and interesting people to share their stories and experiences to help and support others.

In today’s post I interview the amazing Sofia Grahn, a skin positivity and acne advocate from Sweden. She only started sharing her story publicly a year ago, but has already become a wonderfully uplifting and important voice within the acne community. I absolutely love this interview and hope you do too.

Repin and click to read my interview with Sofia (@isotretinoinwiths), acne and skin positivity advocate. She talks about skin positivity, shares her tips for self love, and the media visibility of acne. #talontedlex #skinpositivity #acnepositivity
