MUA Furry Nail Art With Flocking Powder

I have wanted to try these new flocking powders ever since I saw them and I wasn’t disappointed. I know it won’t be to everyone’s taste but I love it!

The polish is one of the new ones from my holiday haul – Kinetics ‘Violet Up’ (KP197). This is a bright fuchsia jelly-like polish, and the photos show three coats with Seche Vite.

To apply the fluff, you tip some into the lid of the pot, dip the wet nail into the fluff and carefully pat down. Et voila! Fluffy fun nails!

I don’t think MUA make this flocking powder anymore but you can get a similar product HERE.

I actually bought this polish ages ago but I took so long to get round to swatching it that I forgot just how pretty it looked. I think I first picked it up hoping that it was a (much, much more affordable) Chanel ‘Peridot’ dupe.

I was so intrigued when I saw these Matte Suede polishes. Textured finishes are going to continue to be big this year and this polish has definitely converted me to matte/textured finishes. The finish falls somewhere between a matte topcoat effect and the new liquid sand polishes.

As it is a matte finish nail varnish, these swatches are obviously shown without top coat. I like this effect but it was tricky to get a smooth finish, as the polish starts to turn matte very quickly so has a tendency to drag and go bumpy. You have to be quick and precise to avoid an annoying cleanup, which may put off some people.

What do you guys think of the matte suede finishes? Or textured finishes in general? Let me know in the comments!

I can’t find the Revlon Matte Suede collection anywhere online (except Amazon…) but you can find the current Revlon range HERE.

Have I mentioned that I love my light box? I just can’t get over it. It makes me so happy! Look how lovely and bright the pictures are! *claps hands*

I make no secret of my absolute love for Barry M nail varnishes and this one has just rocketed into my all time favourites. It is a dark berry red with an amazing shine even without top coat. It applied like a dream and had full coverage in two coats. I think it would be really flattering on all skin tones as well. Perfect.

Today’s swatch is Rimmel’s excitingly named (!!) ‘Baby Pink’: a pretty bright Barbie pink creme polish.

This is two coats with Seche Vite on top (as always). I’m not a massive fan of baby pink but this is bright enough for me to quite like it!

This polish range is no longer widely available, but has been replaced with the Rimmel Salon Pro range which is great. You can see the current range HERE. If you want this EXACT polish, you can still find it online HERE (please note I’ve never bought from that particular website so I’m not sure on delivery or quality).
