Have you ever wondered why you can drink a glass of wine one week and your rosacea doesn’t react, but a week later you do the exact same thing and your skin flips out? I have spoken about the ‘bucket theory’ on my social pages before but thought it warranted its own post.
I wanted to say up front that I don’t want to upset people, or cause offence, with this post. I’ve wanted to write about denial for a long time but I have struggled to word it in a way I’m happy with because I was worried about upsetting someone. So I’m just going to write it as though I was talking to my sister or my friend: sometimes tough love is what we need.
For a while I’ve been doing that super annoying thing that people do where they say things like: ‘working on a secret project today, I can’t say anything about it but all will be revealed…!’ I’m very aware that this is the most irritating thing ever, but I was so excited and desperately wanted to share the news with you but I wasn’t allowed. Until today…! I’m so, so thrilled to announce that I’m going to be appearing on the new Channel 4 programme, Katie Piper’s Face To Face!
If you follow my blog you will know that I am a huge fan of full coverage make up. My rosacea redness makes me very self-conscious and I feel more like myself when I know I can apply a full face of make up. But I know that not everyone can (or wants to) wear a lot of make up. So I have pulled together the products that would work as a rosacea cover ups for men and those who prefer a lighter look.
When I was diagnosed with Rosacea 10 years ago, (you can read about my diagnosis HERE), I was prescribed a rosacea treatment that made my skin even worse. So since then, I have avoided targeted treatments and relied on my own beauty knowledge and managed my symptoms as best I could with diet and lifestyle changes. When I was approached by SEQuaderma to try their SEQuaderma treatment for rosacea and facial redness, I was a bit apprehensive and did a lot of reading to educate myself before agreeing to try it. But I’m so glad I did. You can see the final results above but keep reading for the details.
(It’s a bit scary putting my no-make-up face on here but I can’t review a product for rosacea without showing my face… so please be kind!)
