A few days ago I wrote a post about the products I took on holiday to Japan: what I used on the plane, what skincare I took with me, what make up I chose, and a few bits I bought to use straight away. This post is a follow on from that post and covers the ultimate rosacea travel tips – going beyond beauty and delving into trigger management, how to prepare, and how your mindset can help.
A few days ago on Instagram, I mentioned the cold weather and the impact it was having on my rosacea and asked if people were interested in me resharing my cold weather rosacea tips.
Rosacea is a complicated beast: we’re still not sure what causes it, there’s still no cure, and everyone has different triggers. There are so many people out there willing to sell you courses or products to ‘heal’ or ‘cure’ your skin condition, but I wanted to go back to basics. I’ve put together an edit of 6 quick, easy and mostly free things that you can do today to help your rosacea.
I am often asked how I keep my rosacea under control and my – sometimes unpopular – response is ‘through a lot of trial and error’. I was diagnosed with rosacea at 21 – 20 years ago – and I have made a lot of changes to my lifestyle, skincare routine, and mindset in that time. But by far the biggest change to my skin was finding out my rosacea triggers.
I was diagnosed with rosacea 20 years ago and I’ve been talking about it on the internet for about 12 years. It’s still crazy to me that it’s not as well-known as it should be – there are millions of people worldwide with this condition and, in my opinion, it should be as widely recognisable as acne or psoriasis. April is Rosacea Awareness Month and, as always, I’ll be doing a few posts about different issues related to the condition but I thought I would update this GIGANTIC post containing all the rosacea FAQs that I get every day from people all over the world. I’ve built up so much knowledge and advice in countless blog posts, so this post has become a central hub that I can direct people to. Please ask questions in the comments below, and I will keep adding to this rosacea FAQs post as we go along!
