This week has been such a rollercoaster of emotions: I was on TV which was so flipping surreal. My nerves beforehand were terrible, I cried so much when I was watching it, and had such a lovely outpouring of support and love from people which I am still buzzing from! Hooray for good weeks! And now it’s a long weekend (…not that that makes much difference to me as a freelancer but !) Are you ready for my Friday Faves?
Don’t forget to tell me your Friday Faves and your good week/bad week tales in the comments below – I absolutely love reading them!
GOOD WEEK: Katie Piper’s Face To Face (the show I featured in) aired on Tuesday and I thought I was going to pass out I was so nervous. I barely slept the night before and I tried to keep myself so busy all day to distract myself. The programme itself was so incredible: it looked at skin conditions and beauty in such a positive and inclusive way. the other women who took part were so inspirational and strong. I feel so proud to have been asked to take part and to raise awareness of rosacea. It’s now available to stream HERE if you missed it. Unfortunately it’s only available to people in the UK at the moment but I’ll update you if it will be available internationally in the future.
BAD WEEK: The hangover I’m struggling with today may well kill me. I went to an amazing wedding yesterday and the free bar seemed like such a good idea at the time but everything hurts and I never want to drink ever again.
I finally jumped on the Too Faced Sweet Peach hype and what I FOOL I was for taking so long. I didn’t think I needed a new eyeshadow palette but the Too Faced Sweet Peach palette* is so flipping pretty that I cannot stop using it. From the name I thought it would just be a warm-toned palette (which I would not have been against, we all know I love an orangey eye!) but it has some lovely darker shades to give your looks more dimension and also means it’s not just a spring/summer palette. It smells pretty strongly of peaches, which I love but that’s worth bearing in mind if you’re not a fan of sweet scents.
Here are some swatches of my current favourite shades, showing the beautiful duochrome effect in the shadows as well as the pigmentation. Left to right are: Just Peachy, Puree, Bless Her Heart, and Peach Pit. So beautiful!
I am also in love with the Too Faced Sweet Peach Glow Kit*, although it’s not for the faint hearted: there’s a lot of glow and gold in there. On the left is an illuminator, the middle shade is a blusher, and on the right is a bronzer. They’re all so soft and smooth to use, have great pigmentation, and leave you glowing and sparkling without leaving you looking like a disco ball! Plus they all have the same dreamy peach scent (and for those wondering I had no reaction to the fragrance from my rosacea – woohoo!)
The next item in my favourites is this absolutely dreamy perfume from Malin + Goetz. I had heard of the brand before because one of the founders has rosacea so they have a skincare range that’s apparently wonderful for sensitive skin (keep an eye on the blog in future for a review!) but I had no idea they did fragrances. This one is Malin + Goetz Vetiver Eau De Parfum* and I cannot even describe to you how good I smell right now. It has top notes of Italian bergamot, grapefruit peel and cardamom, the middle notes are African briarade, celery seed and white iris and the bottom notes are Haitian vetiver, warm amber and guaiacwood. It’s warm but fresh, sexy and so unusual – I’m in love!
My last Friday Faves this week are some beautiful home bits from Amara. If you’ve not heard of this website you NEED to go have a look. It’s a husband and wife team who have built this incredible luxury homeware website. There’s all sorts on there but I’m always drawn to knick-knacks and pretty shelf styling (my minimalist husband is thrilled by this…!) and they kindly sent me the Paper Whites Peonies in the Honeycomb Glass* which is ideal for me as I cannot keep real flowers alive. These flowers look so realistic and I’ve put them on my breakfast bar which is where I work from and they really lift my mood every day. They also sent me the Kosta Boda Make Up HotLips Ornament* which I ADORE – we all know I have a serious lipstick obsession and this is so cute and different.
Tell me your Friday Faves, whether that’s beauty, home bits, podcasts, books, films, TV, food… anything. I’m very susceptible to peer pressure and have terrible FOMO so tell me whatever you’re loving so I can become obsessed with it as well!

Found your blog after watching Face to Face! You were brilliant 🙂 I’m so jealous of you for having the Sweet Peach palette! That and the Chocolate Bar palette are on my wish list – they both look amazing!
