Seventeen Potion Nail Varnish

Seventeen Potion Nail Varnish

I actually bought this polish ages ago but I took so long to get round to swatching it that I forgot just how pretty it looked. I think I first picked it up hoping that it was a (much, much more affordable) Chanel ‘Peridot’ dupe.

Lac Attack Dementor’s Kiss

Lac Attack Dementor’s Kiss

My Lac Attack polishes arrived today and it was so hard to decide which to swatch first. I really love white, black and red as a colour combination so I picked Lac Attack Dementor’s Kiss.

This is a clear-based polish with multi-sized black hex glitter and large red hex glitter. Swoon!

These pictures show one coat of ‘Dementor’s Kiss’ over one coat of OPI’s ‘Skull and Glossbones’, with a top coat of Seche Vite. I am so impressed by the glitter and application. It almost reminds me of lace from far away.

I am so glad I got these polishes, I am seriously thrilled with them!

Barry M Raspberry Nail Varnish

Barry M Raspberry Nail Varnish

Have I mentioned that I love my light box? I just can’t get over it. It makes me so happy! Look how lovely and bright the pictures are! *claps hands*

I make no secret of my absolute love for Barry M nail varnishes and this one has just rocketed into my all time favourites. It is a dark berry red with an amazing shine even without top coat. It applied like a dream and had full coverage in two coats. I think it would be really flattering on all skin tones as well. Perfect.

You can see the Barry M nail varnish range HERE.

Galaxy Nail Art Tutorial

Galaxy nail art tutorial

I made this Galaxy nail art tutorial aaages ago and forgot about it, but here it is finally: a super simple tutorial for a galaxy manicure.

Galaxy Nail Art Tutorial

You will need: A few nail varnishes (you can choose your favourites after playing around a bit but for this particular look I chose black, navy, light blue, pale yellow, green, orange and white), a sponge, and a top coat.

1. Paint your nails with the black nail varnish and, using a small section of sponge (cosmetic sponges are perfect), lightly dab on some dark blue polish

2. Then dab a lighter blue onto the nail in swirls, covering about 75% of the darker blue patches.

3. Add highlights in whatever colour you like: I used green and orange.

4. Add further highlights in the centre of the lighter colours: I used a baby yellow

5. Use a dotting tool to add some stars in white polish. Finish with a generous layer of top coat to smooth it all out.

There you go! Galaxies in 5 easy steps. The best thing about galaxies is trying it out for yourself with any colours you like. Each time I do these, they turn out completely different.

Let me know if you try out this tutorial, I’d love to see your galaxy manicures!

Ice Cream Nail Art Manicure

What has been cheering me up this week? This Ice Cream Nail Art Manicure. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

Ice Cream Nail Art Manicure

When I was thinking about what nail art to do, I decided on pretty, pastel ice creams to match the lovely weather we’ve been having in London. I have wanted to do these for ages, but they don’t really work on squoval nails. These rounded nails are so much fun, I wish I’d changed them up ages ago!

I used a few different Seventeen nail varnishes in this manicure for the pastels, and used a Barry M shade for the brown cone colour.

What do you think to this super sweet manicure?
