I was diagnosed with rosacea 20 years ago and I’ve been talking about it on the internet for about 12 years. It’s still crazy to me that it’s not as well-known as it should be – there are millions of people worldwide with this condition and, in my opinion, it should be as widely recognisable as acne or psoriasis. April is Rosacea Awareness Month and, as always, I’ll be doing a few posts about different issues related to the condition but I thought I would update this GIGANTIC post containing all the rosacea FAQs that I get every day from people all over the world. I’ve built up so much knowledge and advice in countless blog posts, so this post has become a central hub that I can direct people to. It feels so strange to talk about December ’16 as it feels like a million years ago! But here is my (belated) Skincare Shake Up December edition. You know how this goes, so let’s just get going before I waffle even more than usual!
So far in my ‘5 Best…’ series we’ve covered cleansers and moisturisers, so next up is one of the most exciting posts in the series: 5 best budget exfoliators. I can hear you laughing at the back, and yes I’m aware that exfoliators don’t *sound* that exciting but hear me out! If you don’t currently use one, or use it sporadically, then I can guarantee that when used regularly it can transform the skin. A good exfoliator makes you look healthier, less tired, helps with blemishes and, as a result, make up sits better on the skin. I have a lot to say about this topic so grab a cuppa and a biscuit!
Whenever I mention to people that I like my foundation to be high coverage, there is one name that always pops up: Vichy Dermablend* foundation. I have been keen to try this product for a while – I am a big fan of Vichy skincare as it’s very gentle on my sensitive skin, so I had high hopes for their make up range. I was given this at an event a few months ago and I’m kicking myself that I didn’t try it out before now!
I have filmed a first impressions video so that you can see how well the foundation covers redness and so you can hear my initial thoughts on the texture, formula and application. There are also some bloopers at the end of the video if you fancy something to cheer you up!

The media campaign asks you to pledge to Take A SEQond Look – they want to remind and inspire people to ‘value difference and build a kinder world’. You can visit the campaign website (EDIT: no longer live, sorry) to read more about it, where you can also take a survey on the psychological effects of skin conditions and the impact they may have on you. These results hope to form the largest survey of its type and help to both raise awareness and understanding of a multitude of skin conditions.
