I have a bit of an obsession with nail varnish (I know that may be new and shocking information) but without proper nail care, there’s no point in spending money and time on beautiful nail varnishes and manicures.
After my training session at the Nail Harmony UK studios I was asked if I’d be interested in reviewing some of the Gelish polishes and I jumped at the chance. I’d only had 2 gel manicures in my life and had never tried it myself (apart from at my day of training) so was really intrigued to see if I could do it without messing it up!
For my reviews, I decided to pick Gelish colours that would be ideal choices for a person who was wanting to invest in their own gel manicure set. I wanted to look for the colours that everyone would get use out of: neutrals, corals for summer, pastels for spring, a classic red, a vampy dark colours and of course some glitters.
This is the first Gelish colour I chose to review: Bella’s Vampire, a dark aubergine shade. I love dark vampy shades, even though some people think you can’t wear dark colours on long nails (pfft I say. PFFT).
A few weeks ago I was kindly invited to a day of Gelish training with the Nail Harmony UK team. I managed to get really lost on the way and was really late, but thankfully there were delicious pastries waiting for us. I am terrible at recognising other bloggers so it took me ages to realise who I was in the room with, and once I did I spent the rest of the day trying not to fangirl all over them: Alice from One Nail To Rule Them All and Sammy from The Nailasaurus are as close as you can get to nail blogging royalty and are both really lovely.
At the Birchbox event I went to a few weeks ago I met a blogger called Emily and fangirled a bit when I found out that she was one of the creators of The Lacquer Lab. I am always on the look out for independent, UK based nail polish brands and this one had been on my radar for a while. I was lucky enough to be sent their new limited edition festive trio to review and I will apologise now for the photo heavy post: these polishes deserve a lot of pictures!
So here is the trio, L-R: Fred & Ginger, I Want A Pony, and Snow Globe. Don’t you just feel Christmassy looking at them?
