I bought 3 of the Sally Hansen nail art pens in New York (if you want to have a nosey at the other goodies I got you can watch my haul videos HERE and HERE). Although I wanted every single pen that they stocked, I was very reserved and picked the pens I thought I would use the most: white, black and red. I am an impatient soul and I wanted to try them out straight away, so this is my first foray into some simple nail art using them.
Stripe Nail Art With Sally Hansen Pens
The base of this mani is essie’s ‘Status Symbol’, a beautiful pink creme polish that was included in May’s Nailbox subscription box (full review with swatches HERE). The nail art pens are ridiculously simple to use: you unclick the pentop lid, press the nib down on something to dispense the product into the nib (I just used a bit of scrap paper) and then you’re good to go!
I have only tested the white, but as you can see in the pictures one coat comes out quite a silvery, pale white. After I took pictures, I did another layer on the stripes and they went white and opaque. The formula is quite runny, so be careful around your cuticles and the sides of your nails as it has a tendency to flood.
I don’t think these are available in the UK but these were about $5 in the US which I think is pretty good for how easy they are to use. Hopefully these will make it over the pond at some point, I’d definitely end up getting more colours in future. Have you tried these nail art pens? Are there any others you’d recommend? I tried the WAH pens back in the day and also the Barry M ones which I really liked but always on the hunt!
