If you follow Dermatica on social media, you may have seen a lot of excitement as they have just launched an entire skincare range. I have been sworn to secrecy about this launch, but I have already been trying the products for the past two months so here is my full Dermatica skincare range review (with a great discount code as well!)
This is a sponsored post in association with Dermatica.
The whole range of Dermatica daily skincare essentials are designed to work perfectly alongside your personalised Dermatica treatment (although – obviously – they can be used by anyone, even if you aren’t currently using Dermatica!) and they are a great way to take the guesswork out of your routine. I’ll talk you through the whole range below, but first I wanted to give you a quick refresher about Dermatica and what they do.

WHAT IS DERMATICA?
Dermatica create custom-made, personalised skincare formulas and they were actually the first company in the UK to offer an online, personalised, evidence-based rosacea formula tailored to the customer’s individual needs. Their goal is to make skincare accessible and affordable for everyone. The process is really simple: you complete a free, online consultation where you upload photos of your skin from all angles and provide information about your skin and your desired results. The in-house dermatology team then look at your information and recommend next steps. After completing your subscription purchase, every month you receive a new tube of your personalised cream through the post. This monthly delivery means that the team can tweak your formula over time, with your input, to make sure it is the perfect blend for you. I think this kind of hands-on, tailored skincare is so clever and knowing that there is a team of experts right there to offer individual advice and support is so comforting.
MY DERMATICA FORMULA
I’ve been using some form of the Dermatica personalised formula for 19 months. I started off using the rosacea-specific formula and used that for a year (you can read my full review of that HERE), and then last year I asked them to tweak my formula to target some of my other skin concerns so it now contains a retinoid. I know this can be a scary ingredient for those of us with sensitive skin, but I’ve started off with a very low percentage and I’m really pleased with my results. You can read my full review of the retinoid formula HERE.
If you’re interested in trying any of the Dermatica formulas, I have a seriously great discount code that you won’t find anywhere else: click THIS LINK (UK) or THIS LINK (US) and enter the code LEX to receive your first month for only £2.90 and to get 15% off your second and third months.
So now you know a bit more about the brand, let’s get into the Dermatica skincare range review.
There are 6 new products in the range and, as I said above, I’ve been trying them out since January. It has been so hard to not talk about them! All of the products are under £16, fragrance free, and full of brilliant, effective ingredients. There are also two bundle options – I’ve included details below. Keep your peepers peeped for an exclusive discount code at the end of this post as well!
WHAT PRODUCTS ARE IN THE DERMATICA SKINCARE RANGE?
DERMATICA CLEANSERS
- Balancing Glycerin Gel Cleanser (200ml, £12.95) – “This gentle cleanser is formulated according to the NICE guidelines for acne, with moisture-locking Glycerin and carefully selected non-comedogenic ingredients. It effectively removes makeup, dirt and SPF without stripping or irritating oily or blemish-prone skin. Fragrance free.”
- MY THOUGHTS: This is a gentle gel cleanser that feels so cooling and soothing on my skin. It’s designed for acne-prone, oily, or combination skin but – unlike some cleansers designed for this skin type – it doesn’t feel at all drying or harsh so I think this would work just as well for drier skin types as well. It washes off really easily and leaves the skin feeling calm.
- Caring Squalane Cleanser (200ml, £12.95) – “A nourishing cream-to-oil-to-milk cleanser for balanced to dry skin. Formulated with Squalane for hydration and Grapeseed and Rice Bran Oils to remove all traces of makeup. Fragrance free.”
- MY THOUGHTS: I have loved using this during the recent freezing cold weather as my skin has felt a bit sensitive and wind-battered. It’s a really gorgeous formula: it goes on as a thick cream, which then turns into an oil on the skin, and then emulsifies into a milk when you apply water. If you have dry or tight-feeling skin, I think this will be a new favourite.
DERMATICA MOISTURISERS
- Soothing Centella Gel Moisturiser (50ml, £12.95) – “Lightweight, oil-free gel moisturiser that hydrates and helps to strengthen the skin’s barrier. Formulated according to NICE guidelines which means it’s pH neutral, has no comedogenic ingredients and is ideally suited for sensitive and blemish prone skin. Fragrance free.”
- MY THOUGHTS: This is fantastic everyday moisturiser. It feels light on the skin, works wonderfully under make up, copes with my dry patches with ease while still managing to keep my oily t-zone happy. I’ve been using this every morning and it’s probably my favourite product of the whole range.
- Nourishing Ceramide + Peptide Moisturiser (50ml, £15.95) – “For balanced to dry skin that needs effective hydration, apply this morning and evening for comforting relief. The Ceramide blend in the moisturiser helps lock in moisture and maintain a healthy skin barrier. Niacinamide helps fade the appearance of dark spots, and Peptides help keep skin plump to smooth fine lines. Fragrance free.”
- MY THOUGHTS: This has been my nightly moisturiser, the one that I use to ‘sandwich’ my Dermatica personalised formula (by which I mean I apply moisturiser-treatment-moisturiser). It’s a cream texture, so for my skin type it’s perfect for an evening routine but if you had drier skin, or issues with your skin barrier, it could easily work day and night.
DERMATICA SERUM
- Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid + Vitamin B5 Serum (30ml, £15.95) – “A serum that reduces the appearance of fine lines and deliver instant, intense hydration for plump, healthy looking skin. Two weights of Hyaluronic Acid help hydrate and soften the appearance of visible fine lines and wrinkles while Vitamin B5 helps keep skin moisturised. Fragrance free.”
- MY THOUGHTS: I notice a big difference in my skin if I don’t use a serum and this one is lovely. It really helps to lock-in moisture and help whatever moisturiser you layer on top of it work even harder. You only need a tiny pea-sized dot of this serum and it’s a pleasure to use: no stickiness, it just feels very comfortable on the skin.
DERMATICA BALM
- Restoring Ceramide Skin Balm (£5.95) – “A skin barrier recovery balm that nourishes and protects very dry and/or sensitised skin. Apply to dry or flaky patches to give your skin extra care. Contains ceramides. Fragrance free.”
- MY THOUGHTS: I love a balm, especially at this time of year. I’ve been using this as a treatment/barrier balm for my freezing cold dog walks. I rub the tip of my finger across the top of the balm, spread the product across the rest of my fingers, and then softly pat the product onto the areas of my skin that are most aggravated by wind and cold (e.g. around my nose, the apples of my cheeks, between my eyebrows, and around my mouth). It’s also been a great for cuticles, elbows, lips, and knees so this would be a wonderful handbag product or holiday beauty multi-tasker.
DERMATICA SKINCARE BUNDLES
If you want to get your whole routine sorted in one go, Dermatica are also offering skincare bundles which each include a cleanser, serum, and moisturiser. Just pick the bundle that best represents your skin type or results you’re looking for.
- The Nourishing Kit – This includes the Caring Squalane Cleanser, Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid + Vit B5 Serum, and the Nourishing Ceramide + Peptide Moisturiser. This kit is £32.80 (instead of £44.85).
- The Balancing Kit – This includes the Balancing Glycerin Gel Cleanser, Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid + Vit B5 Serum, and the Soothing Centella Gel Moisturiser. This kit is £29.85 (instead of £41.85).
OVERALL THOUGHTS
I am so impressed by the whole Dermatica skincare range and even more so because it’s so affordable. The fact that you can get a whole skincare range for about £30 is incredible, especially as you could add it to your next Dermatica delivery so you don’t even have to pay postage – bargains upon bargains! It’s rare that I like every product from a range but this is a really strong selection. My favourites are probably the gel-formula cleansers and moisturisers, simply because I have oily/combination skin. But I would happily use all of these products with no issues.
I also really love the packaging and recent rebranding Dermatica have had. I know that it’s not an essential for a skincare range to look pretty, but so many brands that are aimed at sensitive skin are so clinical and boring-looking. It feels like we’re often overlooked when it comes to products that look nice on the shelf, but this whole range looks great. I’ve been using them all since January and I’m going to continue to use them for the foreseeable, so feel free to keep sending questions.
The only thing that’s missing from this range is a sunscreen (very important when you’re using actives, as we all know) and I’m still crossing my fingers that Dermatica are going to get involved with that area in the future, because can you imagine how good it would be?! While I’m here, Dermatica, I’d also love a cleansing balm, a hydrating mask, an eye cream suitable for sensitive eyes, and maybe a facial spritz. I hope you’re writing this down…

Love the squalane cleanser. Just wish it came in a travel size.
Also, do you still use the rosacea treatment, and have added the retinol as a separate one? I asked Dermatica and they told me I could only do one or the other not both so I am confused on this.
I LOVE the ceramide balm. I have a rosacea (male) but the spotty kind with mild flushing (altogether classed as ‘mild’ but annoying!!)
I can tolerate 0.05% tretinoin 3 times a week, thankfully, but find the ceramide balm a great occlusive at the end of my skincare (vanicream cleanser, a basic ceramide moisturiser).
I do also have the same serum as you, but find it very sticky! works amazing if applied straight out of the shower.
My skin is glossy, smooth, and hydrated (I have dry dry rosacea skin)
Glad it also works for you!
