So apparently it’s June *stares as sheets of rain hurtle past the window and I realise I’m wearing a knitted jumper and fluffy socks*… But start of a new month can only mean one thing – it’s time for May 2016 monthly favourites! There are some old favourites and some new discoveries in here so let’s get cracking.
I’ve recorded my first ever vlog! It was my birthday in April and we decided to do a trip combining seeing family and a long weekend in Paris. My parents live near Toulouse so we went there for a week of relaxing, wine and dog-hugging. Then we took the SNCF up to Paris to meet friends for a long weekend of sightseeing, cocktails and delicious food. I hope you enjoy my Toulouse Paris Vlog!
Earlier today I read a wonderful article on twitter. You should read it, but for the lazy/time limited ones among you, the basic premise is that if your response to something isn’t to say ‘hell yes’ then it should be a ‘no’. This may seem reactive and excessive, and at first it petrified me as I am very much the type of person who has always dwelled in the grey area. In the past I thrived on the intricacies, the confusion, the up-in-the-air aspect of the grey area.
Last week I attended the Beginners Photography Course at the London Institute of Photography*. I’ve been blogging for 5 years and my photography has vastly improved in that time (I stopped using my phone camera for a start!) but I still wasn’t happy with the way my photos looked. I used my DSLR on the manual setting, but I basically mashed buttons until the settings were exactly how I wanted them to be and god forbid if anyone touched them! I knew that I needed to discover exactly what my camera was capable of and how I could make it work for me rather than pointing, clicking and hoping for the best.
February has been a bit of a strange month. I’ve not really bought many new products so I’ve been rediscovering some old favourites so this favourites instalment is a bit of a mixture. I hope you enjoy having a nosey into my most loved products from the past month…
