I am incredibly lazy with my hair. I thought that when I cut it into a bob I would be inspired to blow dry it, style it… do *anything* with it. But no: I rough-dry it, straighten my fringe and leave the rest to fend for itself.
With this in mind, the concept of blow dry bars is music to my ears. They’ve been around in the US for ages and they’re finally getting bigger over here, much to my joy. The concept is simple: you pop in, have your hair washed and styled and you’re good to go. Such a great idea if you have a night out or busy weekend or just want to treat yourself.

For people with sensitive skin or rosacea, the idea of having a facial can be a scary one. You have to think about the products they will use (a lot of ingredients can cause flare ups), how much force they will use, how warm the room will be. There are a lot of factors! I also don’t usually like having facials as you aren’t supposed to apply make up for at least 8 hours afterwards. So having a full time job means that the only time I can have a facial is at the weekend and I personally don’t feel comfortable wandering around at the weekend with no make up on. A few weeks ago I was very kindly invited to Vos Beauty Salon in Chelsea to try out some of their treatments. It’s on the King’s Road, right opposite The Bluebird restaurant so it’s in a great location. I love that part of London: it’s brilliant for wandering around, staring at houses and cars that you might buy if you win the lottery or marry a rich oligarch. Always a fun way to pass the time!
A few weeks ago I was invited to the Trevor Sorbie salon in Covent Garden for a KeraStraight Ultimate treatment. If you’ve followed my blog for a while, you may remember that I had a KeraStraight treatment last year (which you can read about HERE) which was amazing. I feel like people throw around the term ‘life-changing’. But for me, not having to straighten my hair every single day and being able to forget about frizz completely for 3 months… that’s pretty life-changing!
Since I’ve had my hair cut shorter, it’s a lot more manageable but I’d forgotten how much work goes into a fringe when you have wavy hair. I would have to blow dry it, but the underside would still be frizzy and had a stubborn kink. And of course as soon as it rained or became humid, it would start to curl up. So the idea of getting my a semi-permanent treatment on my fringe filled me with pure joy!
