I’ve raved about Kiko polishes in the past, so let’s just recap very quickly shall we? So reasonably priced, beautiful colours, great two-coaters, good brushes… what’s not to like?

Breaking Bad Nail Art

The second installment in Nail Art Sunday is in honour of the new series of one of my new favourite TV shows: Breaking Bad.

There’s not much to say about these: it’s a green base with the green smoke of the intro and the chemical symbols on the first two nails – all hand painted, of course.

The green base shade is A-england Dragon (full review HERE) and the smoke shades are by Barry M. The white used for the chemical symbols was my trusty Natural Collections white.

Enjoy the new series, yo!

Lex

P.S. Please excuse the awful state of my skin and cuticles, I was suffering from ridiculously dry hands at this point and nothing would save them!

Kiko 275 Black Review

Kiko 275 Black

Kiko 275 Black

The hunt is over, call off the search: I have found the perfect black nail varnish. I have tried so many and they are either too thin, which means it takes ages to build to full opacity. Or they are thick and unwieldy to work with. This is just right.

Kiko 275 Black is a typical Kiko nail varnish: great coverage, high shine and quick to dry. The brushes are also some of my favourites with a fairly wide brush so they are very easy to apply. This polish gives a perfect, deep, dark black in two thin coats. It’s also very shiny but these photos are shown with Seche Vite.

You can buy this amazing polish HERE. No no no, you’re welcome!

Game Of Thrones Nail Art

I thought I would celebrate my return to nail art with a bang! I have got out of the habit of doing nail art and I actually missed it a lot as I find it really calming. So I decided to start a regular day on my blog to force me into doing nail art more often.

I asked Aaron what he’d like me to do for the first Nail Art Sunday and he immediately said Game of Thrones (our current TV series obsession) so here we go!

The nails are, from thumb to little finger: House Stark; House Lannister; House Baratheon; House Targaryen; and House Tyrell.

I hope you like them, I really enjoyed creating them. I’m a bit rusty with the detailing so please forgive any messy bits!

I’ve reviewed some of the other Barry M Gelly polishes before and have been very vocal about how much I like them, but I was a bit disappointed by this polish.

The colour is amazing – you can see that from the pictures. I am a huge fan of green polishes on all forms but lime green holds a special place in my heart. This is no exception. It’s bright, it’s summery, it’s obnoxious… it’s perfect. But the formula was a nightmare. It was so thick and stringy. I added some nail varnish thinner to it but it was still horrible. It was drying as I was trying to apply it, which made it drag and made the finish bumpy. I had to apply two coats of Seche Vite to make it look presentable, which is a first for me with Barry M polishes. I’m hoping it was just a bad batch as I have some other polishes from this range lined up to try and will be gutted if they’re just as bad.

You can buy the range HERE. Do let me know your experiences with this product as I’m hoping it’s just this bottle.
